The Boy Who Borrowed Tomorrow
At exactly 11:59 PM, 17-year-old Noah found an old silver watch lying on the sidewalk. It had no brand, no scratches, and only three words engraved on the back:
“One day only.”
Curious, Noah wound the watch once.
Everything around him disappeared.
When his vision returned, he was standing in the exact same place — but the date on a nearby newspaper read tomorrow.
People walked past him without noticing anything strange. The bakery that had been closed was now open. A billboard advertised a concert that hadn’t happened yet.
Noah had somehow traveled one day into the future.
He spent the day exploring. Then he saw something that changed everything.
A news screen flashed:
“Local School Bus Falls Into River. Twelve Students Missing.”
His younger sister’s school bus number appeared on the screen.
Terrified, Noah wound the watch backward.
He woke up at 11:59 PM again.
The next morning, he warned everyone. Teachers laughed. Police dismissed him. His parents thought he had a nightmare.
Running out of time, Noah raced toward the bridge himself.
When the bus arrived, he noticed the bridge’s support cables snapping.
He jumped into the road, forcing the driver to stop.
Seconds later…
The bridge collapsed into the river.
Every child survived.
The town called him a hero.
But when Noah looked at the silver watch, it had changed.
The engraving now read:
“Your turn.”
That night, the watch disappeared from his bedroom.
The next morning, a girl in another city found a silver watch on a lonely sidewalk.
It still read:
“One day only.”
