We talked about little things. She told me she liked gardening. She had a green thumb, she said. “Me too!” I volunteered.

She took me home and showed me her garden, quite beautiful.

“How do you get it so lush?” I asked.

“Like I like my men. I like planting seeds deep with fertilizer. Would you like to help?”

How could I refuse the sound of that?

I stripped right there in her garden, naked for all the world.

I never expected her shovel to the back of my head. I guess no one ever does.

So, now I know how loamy her soil is, as I fertilize her garden.
