Chandrayaan: How India Reached the Moon and Inspired a Generation

When India launched its first lunar mission in 2008, few could have predicted how far the country’s space program would go. Chandrayaan-3: Making History

On August 23, 2023, India achieved a historic milestone with Chandrayaan-3. The Vikram lander successfully touched down near the Moon’s south polar region, making India the first country ever to land in this area and the fourth nation overall to achieve a soft lunar landing.

The success captured global attention. Millions watched the landing live, celebrating a moment that united the nation. The Pragyan rover explored the lunar surface, conducting experiments and sending valuable scientific data back to Earth.
