Its True Everyone Wants to Be a Whole Number

This we know, and yet

No one wants to be a fraction and yet it is funny how we divide ourselves again and again Living with the parts we only want to see Settling for a denominator too small for who we truly are

Maybe it is because we know to be a whole number we need to accept the sides we often neglect

There is a dividing duality in both you and me No matter how much we try to deny Because we cannot see the light without the dark Good cannot exist without evil Superheroes need their villains

Psychology says, at some level we all want to be loved and respected But sometimes, we go a little too..ooo far

That devilish voice would rather you remain an improper fraction keeping your number above the line TOO BIG for feedback and criticism

Maybe it is because, in our consciousness, we find comfort in knowing how unique and important we are But life as a mixed number, top-heavy ignoring how others see you will only get you so far

This type of existence can be your enemy We cannot exist on our ego alone

Now don’t get mistaken, its fine to feel important but we need to regulate so we don’t overestimate our abilities and worth We need to find balance with modesty and humility and learn to coexist with this duality So we create space to learn and grow

Too much of anything can be a bad thing What gives us strength can be our wickedness/ weakness

Should we ever wonder who we would be without our universal duality We may find in the answer that without duality we can never expand into our experiences, transform and grow

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus said “The only constant in life is change” For change to exist We need contrast because without contrast we are nothing more but equivalent fractions Which by definition are two or more numbers that are equal

So you see Duality introduces the concept of balance For when the pendulum swings and we become unstable It is the contrast that becomes responsible for our expansion and growth

And so it is because we are built to always look and move forward We should remember, “we can’t step in the same river twice” What was once past is gone forever

In our contrast we must commit to step forward and do what we can to become whole

Always remembering where there is resistance there is growth
