Eleven Years of Impact: Pehchaan The Street School’s 11th Anniversary

Eleven years ago, this organisation was started by some of most determined volunteers. They wanted to make sure that no children wastes his/her talent due to lack of resources. Today their this thinking has become 11 years old and their journey has changed lives of 1500 children through education.

Pehchaan The Street School celebrated it’s 11 years at Indraprastha centre recently. For 11 years Pehchaan The Street School have been working to provide identity to the students who are not priviledged enough and provide them with dignity, education. It has successfully combined streets with classroom. This milestone was not just a look back on the past but a huge leap forward towards future where ‘Pehchaan’ (Identity) is a right and not a privilege.

A Celebration of Collaboration

This year, one of the key milestones has been the huge support received from creative partners and entrepreneurs.

Pots and Petals: The collaboration added a sense of nature and aesthetic value to the occasion. Their support proves the organization takes a understandable approach, as it reminds that every student deserves a world filled with growth and color.

Vastra by Monty: Practicality met purpose in this partnership with Vastra by Monty providing laptop bags and pouches ensuring that the Pehchaan The Street School students have the necessary gear to protect their digital tools and stay organized whilst pursuing modern education.

Expanding the Vision: Creativity and Community

Besides these fantastic partnerships, the celebration also marked the artistic spirit in the community. Crochet Muse and 3 Moms and a Hook contributed artistic collaborations to the celebration. These partners demonstrated that social good can come from traditional skills, creative hobbies translated into providing students of Pehchaan The Street School with items that are made with care and precision. That helps in teaching the students that they deserve attention, effort, and beautiful things.

The event at Indraprastha centre was a display of talent and not just a ceremony. Students performed and interacted with volunteers, showcasing that education is best served with extracurricular activities that bring joy to them. The integration the skills associated with these collaborations–ensures schooling maximizes preparation for the professional world’s heterogeneous nature.

The Way Ahead

Now that Pehchaan The Street School has entered the twelfth year, the mission is more clear than before. It stands with 10+ centers across Delhi NCR and 800+ active volunteers, aiming to reach out to many more underprivileged children. The 11 year journey has proved that when a community unites itself whether that be through individual donations, corporate CSR or some of the more creative collaborations mentioned above, then the impact is immeasurable.

This celebration reminds everyone that even though this school has achieved so much since its start beside a drain, there are still thousands of children waiting for their “Pehchaan.” Here’s to eleven years of hope, and many more decades of changing the world, one student at a time.
