Welcome back to the Wanderlust Diaries dear readers.

You may recall from Episode 94 — When a Mediterranean sub-sea earthquake causes a Tsunami — Meow 896 — where Seaspray D and Skipper Riman sailing on their vessel the Golden Lotus were hit by an earthquake induced tsunami between Türkiye and Crete.

The Golden Lotus survived the first tsunami wave with the mast intact, however, Seaspray D was knocked unconscious when his head struck the mast, and lay motionless on the deck.

Skipper Riman at the helm naturally wanted to go to his aid — but the second Tsunami wave rapidly approached, so she was more focused on avoiding that monster by sailing full speed for the protection of Symi Island to the west.

It was indeed a race against time dear readers, the tsunami from the south west getting closer by the second, as the Golden Lotus’ diesel engine grunted along at top speed.

But alas, it seemed it would be too late, as the tsunami was almost on them — it was almost certain that the Golden Lotus would be swallowed whole by this great demon of the sea.

That was until, at the last moment, Skipper Riman had an idea.

The Droneopter (hybrid drone/helicopter) might just do it, Skipper Riman contemplated, as she secured a chain from the battery powered ionic aircraft to a Golden Lotus bollard mid deck, and raised the Golden Lotus just high enough above the tsunami wave to avoid a certain watery grave.

As the Golden Lotus was a heavy teak vessel, the Droneopter would not be able to hold the Golden Lotus above the sea for long, so Skipper Riman rested the vessel back on the ocean, and in the lee of the Greek island Symi, where all would be protected from further tsunami waves.

And hopefully the Greek Gods would also protect them, as Skipper Riman pulled into the scenic harbor of St George Bay.

Once the anchor was over the side, Skipper Riman quickly raced to Seaspray D’s side.

As he lay unconscious on the deck, she immediately gave him mouth to mouth to support his respiration.

Seaspray D eventually opened his eyes and stared vacantly into the eyes of Skipper Riman who now lay on top of him.

Still semi concussed, Seaspray D had no idea what had happened, thinking rather that he was mid-way through a love making scene with his beloved Skipper Riman.

And that is what they did dear readers, the love making continued on the back deck, white boy and brown girl, entwined in locomotion on the ocean, until the magic moment climax of fluid devotion potion arrived.

Thereafter, the salty sailors lay exhausted on the Golden Lotus deck.

Sailors on anchored yachts nearby who had witnessed the whole scene — the tsunami escape — the love making thereafter — gave Skipper Riman and Seaspray D a standing ovation — for their splendid romantic nautical naughty performance. 😊

St George Bay was a tranquil contrast to what they had been through, so Seaspray D and Skipper Riman enjoyed time in the present moment, staring in a trance like state at the steep rocky cliffs that had offered them a safe harbor in their time of need.

“That’s a big bump on your head Seaspray D, almost matching the other head,” Skipper Riman joked, as she pulled a bandage from the first aid kit and wrapped it around Seaspray D’s forehead slightly covering his left eyeball in the vicinity of the large bump.

A short while later, just before the Golden Lotus set sail, the salty couple swam to a small church nearby where they offered prayers of gratitude and thanked the heavens, the Greek Gods, and King Neptune for their survival.

And so it was dear readers, the Golden Lotus sailed on in Turkish waters along the west coast, past the seaside towns of Didim, Kusadasi and Cesme, before entering the Dardanelles Strait that eventually leads to Istanbul.

They anchored in the Dardanelles at Eceabat, and while there was still enough sunlight, Seaspray D and Skipper Riman flew the Droneopter to Anzac Cove on the other side of the Gallipoli Peninsula, made famous in World War One as the site where Australians and New Zealanders landed on the beach, April 25, 1915.

“Yes, all those years ago,” Seaspray D explained to Skipper Riman, “Allied forces landed here in an attempt to knock out the Ottoman Empire.

“However, they failed under the Command of British General William Birdwood, sadly over 8000 Australians, around 2700 New Zealanders died — along with an estimated 250000 Turkish and Arab troops who died or were wounded in the nine-month campaign,” Seaspray D concluded, as he and Skipper Riman layed a makeshift wreath they had made from wildflowers picked beforehand in the woods, at the memorial, in respect to all the young men who died, regardless of nationality.

Tears wiped from their eyes, the salty couple boarded the Droneopter and headed back to the Golden Lotus as the sun set in the west behind them.
