remember the giggles from dizzy cigars and pipe tobacco chewing momma in that abandoned shack behind the school all those years ago

or finding each other in old wood top bar after a mad dash of words writing thesis and looking to drown all worries in alcohol meeting the

endless parade of whites talking over our brown skin raising our voices to be heard then laughing as the cigarette smoke coiled lazily

where did all that time go?

and now you sit on precipice of holding love and cross over the dried bones of this good earth seeking grace as it falls gently down

deigned from heavens you saw your calling like white dove swoop into your mind eye finding the thin line between the sacred and profane

jumping rope between the east and west and the rest finding you in the kairos of our fading youth i will ache until i see you again with larger forehead

ever my brother — find me again where the clouds touch the heavens and sea collapses into horizon
