BCG AI Report: Four slides that stopped me

My former colleagues at BCG just dropped its fourth annual AI at Work survey: 11,749 employees, 14 markets. Four slides stuck with me.
1️⃣ Adoption is no longer the story. 74% of frontline employees now use AI regularly, up 23 points in a year. The “silicon ceiling” everyone worried about is gone.

2️⃣ And it isn’t the usual suspects on top. India, the Middle East and Australia lead adoption. The US, France and Italy trail the average. If you run a developed-market business, that should make you a little uncomfortable.

3️⃣ Yet the training gap hasn’t moved. 88% of people expect to need serious upskilling in the next five years. Only 36% feel properly trained. Same as last year.

4️⃣ So BCG hands it to the CEO. Own strategic clarity personally. Measure value, not adoption. Redesign the work, don’t just buy more tools.
The line that ties it together: employees with a clear strategy but limited tools outperform those with the best tools and no direction. The bottleneck was never the technology. It’s leadership.
Which of these four would worry your leadership team most?
