I swipe my way through those videos. Men and women dressed in white, twisting on the wooden floor of a cabin. Behind them stands one who pulls the strings. Healing coach. Frequency worker. Heart surgeon of a new age.

It looks fantastic. Like a collective short circuit. Like awakening under neon light. Their bodies twitch, writhe, discharge. Faces dissolve, lose shape, lose façade.

I. want. that. too.

To be one of those women — dressed in white, in ecstatic alignment with light. Guided by one who knows what he’s doing, who plays the energy, who implants the heart. Shaking. A body that finally feels again. Pulsing. Alive.

The coach hesitates. When it comes to the heart, he says, you have to go deeper. That’s where the real work begins. I don’t want work. I want the shock. If I’m honest, I want the shortcut. One convulsion. One scream. Flatline. Then euphoria. And everything returns. Everything works again. The moment the horses break loose. A heart that races. Adrenaline as proof of existence.

I hardly listen anymore. He lists the chakras. Speaks of the heart space: blocked, compressed, hollow. He bores me and I follow an impulse, pull off my shirt. He didn’t ask for it. I do it anyway. Something in me wants to be seen.

He freezes. Says it’s not necessary. But his gaze stays fixed, right where the skin carries ink. I follow his eyes. See what he sees: a faded symbol, right over the solar plexus. I’d completely forgotten. The tattoo. The heart. Flaming. Sewn into thorns. I can’t remember when, or with whom, or why. He asks what it means. I don’t know. He reads aloud what circles the heart: cet abîme est mon cœur.

A wave rises from below, through the ribs, through time. Memory as an electric shock. This abyss is my heart. Baudelaire. Femmes damnées. A line carved into skin so I would never forget it.

He calls it the solution. I have to descend. The heart lies down there. Only then, he says, will the energy work begin. Descend? Not glamorous. No white dress. No ecstatic twitching. Only darkness. Depth. Should I rope myself in? Wear boots with grip so I don’t slide into it headfirst? Maybe even a helmet, in case something hits me from above?

I look at the tattoo in the mirror. A mark. A portal. Memory in ink. Nothing stirs. Inside me. No drip. No hum. No wind that calls. No echo breaking in the abyss. No signs. No voice.

If the heart lies in the abyss — wouldn’t it call? Wouldn’t it make itself known? Or is something else calling me? Toward ruin, toward false promises, toward an abyss I can’t return from?

I look up Baudelaire. The damned women. Those who love until they crumble. Those who fall until they love. And something flickers. A tone, barely audible. Residual light under water. It refracts. It breaks me open.

528 Hz.

A frequency that recodes pain into sound, into warmth, into return. Maybe this is the beginning. Of what? I have no idea. A beginning. First steps into darkness. Moisture expands, crystallizes. Encases drops within itself. Tiny worlds sealing off. Becoming unreachable. Collapsing inward. Black holes.

The abyss isn’t a place. It’s a state. The heart becomes a field. It pulses as I descend. It vibrates as it receives me. And for one breath, everything seems to glow from the inside out.

I write it on the mirror: cet abîme est mon cœur. The mirror holds memory. And I start to breathe, as if that alone were already healing.

We write to remember. We remember to awaken. We awaken to rebuild.
