Participants Showcase Creativity in Laku Lelana at MAHABAKTI XXXVIII of MAN 1 Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta , Indonesia — On Saturday (June 20, 2026), participants of MAHABAKTI XXXVIII took part in Laku Lelana, a cultural parade held around the Banyunibo Campsite. The activity featured each kemantren (camp unit) presenting a mascot while parading along a designated route around the campsite.

During the event, every kemantren selected one participant to serve as its mascot, dressed in traditional Indonesian attire to represent the nation’s cultural diversity. Other participants enlivened the parade with creative decorations, spirited chants, and musical performances, creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the procession.

Laku Lelana was carried out with great enthusiasm. Participants walked together along the planned route while demonstrating teamwork, creativity, and unity within their respective groups. Their colorful performances created a festive atmosphere and attracted the attention of everyone around the campsite.

The Principal of MAN 1 Yogyakarta, Edi Triyanto, S.Ag., S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the students’ creativity throughout the event. According to him, Laku Lelana serves as an enjoyable way to build students’ confidence, strengthen teamwork, and foster appreciation for Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

“Laku Lelana provides students with an opportunity to express their creativity and demonstrate teamwork in a joyful atmosphere. Through traditional costumes, chants, and various creative performances, they learn to appreciate Indonesia’s cultural diversity while strengthening friendships. This is part of the character education that we continue to nurture at MAN 1 Yogyakarta,” he said.

One participant from Kemantren Ratnaningsih also shared her experience.

“Laku Lelana was fun and exciting. We enjoyed the fresh air while walking around and exploring the surroundings. Everything went well, even though our group was a little noisy during the parade,” she said.

Through this activity, participants were encouraged not only to stay physically active but also to strengthen cooperation, build self-confidence, and appreciate the diversity around them. Laku Lelana demonstrated that unity and the spirit of teamwork can grow through simple activities carried out together. (joe)
