The Lion Roars

My old team honored me with a small token of their appreciation.

The BetMGM Creative Team, now led by my former protege, was celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Lion’s Award, a recognition program we built from scratch during my tenure (and still going strong). I was invited as the guest of honor/keynote speaker, and I was only too happy to oblige.

I had a great time catching up with former colleagues and swapping stories about the old days.

I quite enjoyed the video montage the team put together for the award ceremony. It was surreal watching how both the awards program has evolved over the years. It has certainly come a long way.

But what was even more amazing was how the team has grown.

The department is now bigger than when I left. They now have 82 FTEs with more growth expected. The young guns we used to shepherd are now leading others, and the former junior leaders are currently managing multiple teams. What hasn’t changed is the culture we built: people are still competitive, have high standards, and are as ambitious as ever.

I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished. I have no doubt that the team will continue to be awesome and I for one am excited to see what’s coming next.
