Helluva day today.

Firstly, the engine mounts arrived. Then David went into hyperdrive.

He fitted the mounts to the boat, hoisted up the new motor and drove it over to Ruru.

Step-by-step he positioned it above the engine bay.

He had a simple hand-operated chain hoist attached to the forklift fork.

Using this in combination with the rear-steering forklift, he positioned to motor on a level plane and lowered it into the engine bay.

Lots of swearing and numerous trips back to the workshop, he succeeded in lowering the motor onto its new mounts. BULLSEYE!

Tomorrow is May Day, a hardcore public holiday where all the shops are shut and literally no-one works.

EXCEPT FOR DAVID! He’s coming in tomorrow to connect everything up.

Absolute bloody legend!

Sebastien the boatyard chef reckons he can get Ruru back in the water on Monday.

My head is almost exploding at the thought.
