i hope we always choose ourselves first, even just for once

How do we know if it’s time to sail the boat?

To leave and never look back without any feeling of regrets?

Alone and uncertain.

Because indeed, nothing lasts forever.

What once part of us is no longer part of us.

What once our dream is now only a part from our past. How can we say goodbye to that one dream that get us through everyday. To that one dream that we worked so hard to get. To that one dream that made us believe in ourselves even though other people tell us otherwise.

Then how do we know if its time to go? Time to quit and let go?

To let go of the version of ourselves that we once thought that will remain in us and not just a phase.

That we thought it will live in us for more than we could ever know.

But one day, waking up to it doesn’t feel the same anymore. Excitement and spark doesn’t linger in the room anymore.

It feels suffocating rather than a comfort zone you once knew. It’s like a stomach-churning reality that turns you into a survival mode everyday you wake up that you are waiting for it to end. Hoping that one day it will stop, and you will be back to normal.

Everything’s going back to a typical day. The day when you don’t need to face it anymore when you wake up. And, the day when you feel you are truly free from everything that’s holding you back from yourself.

Of course, sailing alone is scary. Letting go is not easy. Because, for so many years you t believed that you love that version of yourself until it wasn’t anymore. Until it became upsetting and devastating. But one thing’s for sure it will always be a part of ourselves and no one can take that away from you.

You may get away from it. Let go of it. But, no one can steal the joy and comfort you once felt from it.

They said,

letting go is also a form of love.

And, I agree with it. Because, it’s hard to force ourselves to still love the things that keeps us anxious and leaves us burnt out from everything.

Hence, the easiest to do is to walk away from it. Even though, it is not really easy. Because, certainly, everything will linger. The memories, dreams, feelings, and comfort it once brought.

Without a doubt, it is the hardest thing you would do as well. Because, how can you leave everything easily when it took almost your youth.

So, with a heavy heart just walk away hoping for the best. Hoping that the decision will make sense.

Believing that choosing yourself is undoubtedly the best choice out of all. That choosing yourself will always be the answer in all the uncertainties.

So I’m wishing that you wouldn’t regret that you chose yourself above everything else. Instead, you should be proud of it, because in this lifetime you chose you. That despite everything, you are taking a leap for new beginnings. And, that for once you are having the courage to take a different chapter and path that is unfamiliar with the road you are currently walking.

So don’t be afraid to choose yourself. Because, in this lifetime of yours, yourself will be the most important out of everything.

So, walk away. Be brave enough to leave when growing is no longer in the room. Or even when comfort doesn’t ease anything anymore.

Because, one day you will thank yourself that you walked away. That you mustered up all the courage you have to choose yourself.

And, one day you can shout it to the world that you have truly lived the life that you want.

So go, runaway freely because you will never be forgotten. But rather, you will be remembered as someone who is fearless to choose oneself.
