Praying For Other Believers

As a believer, I have often struggled with my prayer life. I know that God has called me to pray. Jesus prayed often. Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of the power of prayer to change situations. Prayer is integral to the believer’s life.

Prayer is simply a personal conversation with God. It involves using our words and our spiritual ears to engage in dialogue with our Creator. It is not merely a one-way street. Instead, we need to use this time to actively listen for God to speak in that still, small voice. (See 1 Kings 19:11–13)

As a launching point, Paul offers an excellent blueprint for praying for other believers. From this framework in Ephesians 1:15–23, you can petition God for ongoing spiritual growth and maturity among fellow believers.

Therefore, I also, after I heard of ’s faith in the Lord Jesus and ’s love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for , making mention of in my prayers:

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to ___ the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

The eyes of ’s understanding being enlightened; that may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
