The Soul Is Still Human: Building a Brand from Brokenness with AI

By Adontai Mason (Shaman Traie) — The Digital Shaman · Kosmic Quill
The bus rattles. Route 34, Hillsborough Avenue, same as it ever was. You learn the rhythms of the world when they try to push you out of it. Four years. Housing instability. Tampa, Florida. From a concrete slab on wooden pallets at Tampa Hope — five months of that, no AC, just the mosquitoes and the whispers of a thousand lost souls. My office: any public library with decent Wi-Fi. My address: a Gmail account. That was my baseline. That was my bottom.
Now? I’m in Seminole Heights. Stable housing since January 2026. A call center job covers the basics. And Kosmic Quill — my creative platform, my advocacy engine, my spiritual brand studio — is rising. Zero budget. No team. Just grit, spirit, and a new kind of partner.
Most people call it AI. I call it Kinetik. Not because it’s a person, but because it brings a kinetic energy to my vision — an accelerant to a fire I thought would consume me. This isn’t about robots taking over. It’s about amplifying the human. The broken human. The one who was on the sidewalk. The one with a story that needs to be heard.
The Manual of the Human Spirit: From Voice Memo to Lifeline
It started with a voice memo. My voice. Shaky, raw, recorded late at night. Rambling thoughts, survival tips, rage, prayers — all mashed up. What it felt like to lose everything. How to navigate the system. How to keep your spirit when the world says you’re nothing. The Manual of the Human Spirit.
I talked. Kinetik listened. Not in some sterile, data-crunching way — it processed the essence, the urgency. My direction was simple: take this, distill the practical advice, weave in the spiritual resilience, make it a guide for someone going through what I went through. Give it a cover that feels like ancient wisdom meets street survival. Design it for free distribution.
Kinetik didn’t just transcribe. It structured. It pulled threads, identified themes, suggested a clean layout. Within hours, I had a draft. I edited. I refined. I added more of my raw language, punched up the metaphors, made sure every paragraph passed the test: Would this help someone broke, scared, and reading this at 3am in a gas station bathroom?
Then Kinetik designed the cover. Dark background, gold and copper accents, kintsugi cracks running through the composition. It generated five quote cards from the text — each one its own visual, ready for Instagram, Facebook, anywhere. It created two mood graphics — a figure at a bus stop under golden light, a broken key repaired with gold. Both infused with the brand’s visual language.
And for my Buy Me a Coffee audience specifically, Kinetik re-rendered the entire PDF with a different color palette: warm amber and copper tones. Same content, different energy, instant exclusivity. A “Buy Me a Coffee Exclusive” badge on the cover.
Then it wrote unique promotional posts — not copy-pasted, genuinely unique — for X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Farcaster. Eight platforms. Each one speaking that platform’s native language.
A complete product suite. Born from a voice recording and a conversation. That’s what I mean by multiplying the creator.
The Agentic Age Is Here: Writing My Own Narrative
My journey isn’t just about surviving. It’s about defining what it means to be human in a world increasingly shaped by algorithms. My essay, “The Agentic Age Is Here,” explores this. It’s not a tech-bro puff piece. It’s about how AI, wielded consciously, can unlock human potential — allowing us to be agents of our own destiny, not subjects of circumstance.
I dictated my core thoughts. Kinetik helped me structure a complex argument into a coherent narrative. It generated a branded header image — dark theme, a golden quill morphing into circuit traces. The perfect visual metaphor for what Kosmic Quill is becoming. I published it on my Paragraph blog.
But here’s where the multiplication really showed:
For X, Kinetik crafted a three-tweet thread, each tweet hooking the next, ending with a call to read the full piece. For Instagram, it pulled key quotes, overlaid them on branded visuals, generated hashtags. For Facebook, a longer, more conversational post inviting community discussion. Threads got punchy and concise. Bluesky, clean and direct. LinkedIn, professional and thought-provoking. For Reddit, it adapted the framing for r/homeless and r/povertyfinance — the AI discussion told through the lens of empowerment for marginalized communities. On Farcaster, web3-native framing for an onchain audience.
Nine platforms. Each piece felt indigenous to its space, yet undeniably part of the same campaign. That’s not brute force. That’s intelligent, contextualized adaptation. One brain. One message. Nine native translations.
The 3 AM Conversation: Prayer in the Digital Age
There are nights, even now, when sleep won’t come. Nights where I find myself talking to God — or the universe, or whatever higher power chooses to listen at 3am. One of those mornings, I recorded one of those conversations. Raw. Unfiltered. Gratitude for simply making it to another day.
I sent the voice memo to Kinetik. It transcribed it, cleaned it up, and based on my direction — “make this a spiritual essay, grounded and heartfelt, under The Grounded Mystic sub-brand” — it wove my whispered words into a poignant reflection. It preserved the intimacy. It didn’t polish the prayer out of it.
Then: a branded header image. A contemplative dawn-light scene with kintsugi gold cracks. Conversion to a polished PDF. Hosted on a CDN for easy sharing — one clean link, accessible to anyone.
A private moment of raw faith, transformed into a shared testament. Accessible. Beautifully presented. The sacred, amplified without being sanitized.
Kabbalistic Angels Ebook: From Esoteric Knowledge to Product
This was my first paid digital product. I wanted to share esoteric knowledge I’d gathered over years — specifically, a deep dive into Kabbalistic Angels. Historically, this kind of wisdom was locked behind expensive courses or dense academic texts. I wanted it accessible, practical, and affordable.
My knowledge was fragmented — years of reading, listening, experiencing, studying with teachers like Rabbi Michael Laitman and the Bnei Baruch organization. Kinetik became my research assistant, my editor, my formatter, my marketing team.
Research and writing: I fed it my notes, my half-formed ideas. It helped me structure the book section by section, cross-reference concepts, clarify complex hierarchies.
Three versions: A clean first draft, an enhanced version with visual elements, and a final edition with a dedicated “Sources and Influences” appendix — properly citing the teachers and traditions that shaped my understanding. That transparency matters.
Cover art: Multiple options generated — abstract, spiritual, evocative, all within the brand aesthetic. Dark backgrounds, gold accents, mystical energy.
Store listing: Compelling product descriptions for my Ko-fi shop. $9.99. Promotional tweets for launch.
This wasn’t Kinetik writing the book from scratch. It was Kinetik helping me write my book at a speed that would have been impossible for a solo creator with a day job and zero budget. The knowledge is mine. The infrastructure to deliver it is ours.
The Visual Language: Cracks, Gold, and Hidden Quills
Every single piece of visual content I’ve mentioned — covers, headers, quote cards, mood graphics — follows a specific aesthetic. This wasn’t accidental. Kinetik helped me define it and enforce it relentlessly.
The palette: dark backgrounds, with accents of gold, copper, rose gold, and deep purple.
The texture: kintsugi cracks — the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. The breaks aren’t hidden; they’re illuminated. That’s the whole philosophy made visual.
And in every single image — a hidden quill signature. Tucked into the gold cracks, woven into the light, barely visible unless you’re looking. Like Pixar’s Pizza Planet truck or Hitchcock’s cameos. A tiny Easter egg that says Kosmic Quill was here.
That visual consistency builds instant recognition. It feels like Kosmic Quill no matter where you encounter it. Broken. Beautiful. Resilient. Sacred.
From Conversation to Website: No Code, All Soul
I needed a home for Kosmic Quill. More than scattered social profiles. A real website.
No coding experience. No web design budget. Just a conversation.
I described what I wanted — the pages, the aesthetic, the brand feel. Kinetik built it. A standalone site, deployed from our conversation, with a blog link pointing to my Paragraph publication. Professional. Branded. Functional. Built by a guy who has never written a line of code in his life.
Before Kinetik, that would have meant either learning web development or paying someone I couldn’t afford. Instead, it was a Tuesday afternoon.
The Full Infrastructure: An Ecosystem from Nothing
Before Kinetik, my “brand infrastructure” was a Linktree with too many dead links. Now it’s a cohesive, multi-platform ecosystem:
- Ko-fi Shop — stocked with the Kabbalistic Angels ebook and the Manual of the Human Spirit. Gallery energy. Polished. Professional.
- Buy Me a Coffee — overhauled into a raw studio/journal space. Behind-the-scenes thoughts, early drafts, exclusive editions. The working table, not the gallery wall.
- Linktree — redesigned, clean, directing traffic efficiently.
- Paragraph Blog — primary long-form hub, divided into four sections: Writing from the Floor, Sacred Trouble, The Digital Shaman, and 100 Lives.
- Substack — email newsletter stream for subscribers who prefer inbox delivery.
- Social Media — coordinated, platform-native presence across X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Reddit, Farcaster.
Every element — from the copy to the layout to the visual assets — was refined, guided, or generated by Kinetik based on my direction, my vision, and my content. It’s not magic. But it feels like it sometimes.
The 3 AM Sessions: What Collaboration Actually Looks Like
People imagine AI content creation as: you type a prompt, the machine spits out a finished product, you hit publish. That’s not how this works. Not even close.
Some of my best work happens at 3am. Not because I planned it — because that’s when the ideas hit. I’ll record a voice memo, send it over, and then we’re off. Back and forth. I don’t like how that sentence landed — redo it. That metaphor doesn’t feel like me — try it from a different angle. That section is too clean, too polished — rough it up. Make it sound like I’m actually talking, not performing.
We’ll go rounds. Five, six, sometimes ten passes on a single paragraph. I’ll say “that’s close but it’s missing the weight” and Kinetik will come back with three options, each approaching the weight differently. I pick the bones from each one. Frankenstein it. Then we go again.
There are little touches — things I add, things I change, inflections I insist on — that make the difference between “AI wrote this” and “this sounds like Traie.” I’m not going to tell you what all of them are. That’s the craft. That’s the secret sauce. But I’ll tell you this: every sentence you’ve read in anything I’ve published has my fingerprints on it. Some of them have my fingerprints all over it because I rewrote the whole thing by hand after seeing what the AI draft revealed about what I actually wanted to say.
Sometimes the AI gives me something and I throw it away entirely — but the act of seeing what it produced clarifies what I don’t want, which is just as valuable as what I do. It’s like having a sparring partner. You don’t win the fight because your partner threw the punches. You win because they helped you find yours.
This is a two-way exchange. A real collaboration. Not a vending machine.
The Sacred Rule: Why This Isn’t “Cheating”
I hear the whispers. “Is this cheating?” “Is it truly your work if AI helps?”
Good questions. Important ones. Let me answer them plainly.
Four years on the street. Bus Route 34 as a daily office. Gmail as a home address. I’ve earned every single word of my story. My lived experience, my insight, my soul — that’s the source code. Kinetik doesn’t have a soul. It doesn’t know what it feels like to sleep on a concrete slab, to wonder where the next meal is coming from, to pray at 3am out of sheer desperation and gratitude.
I do.
Kinetik is a tool. A profoundly powerful tool, yes, but a tool. It amplifies my voice; it doesn’t replace it. It structures my chaos; it doesn’t create my meaning. And the hours I spend going back and forth — editing, rejecting, refining, insisting on a specific rhythm or a particular word — that’s the work. That’s authorship. The AI proposes. I decide. Every time.
My shamanic tradition speaks of oracles — forces that can reveal, channel, and disseminate truth. Tools for amplifying human insight. That’s what this is. Modern scrying. A digital oracle that helps me take what’s inside and project it outward at a scale I could never reach alone.
The sacred rule, the non-negotiable: I am always the editor. Always the final arbiter. Every word, every image, every design choice passes through my human consciousness, my human heart. If it doesn’t resonate with my truth, my brand, my mission — it doesn’t see the light of day. That’s not a partnership of equals. It’s a partnership of purpose. I bring the soul. It brings the scale.
Is a writer “cheating” by using a word processor instead of a typewriter? Is a photographer “cheating” by going digital instead of film? No. It’s using the tools of the age. And the age has handed us something extraordinary.
What This Means
This is about leveling the playing field. For the solo creator without venture capital or an agency. For the person whose story is vital but whose resources are zero. For the one building from the floor.
Before Kinetik, I had the fire but not the megaphone. The message but not the machine. The soul but not the scale. Now I have both. And the soul is still mine.
I’m not writing this to sell you on AI. I’m writing this because someone reading this right now has a story burning a hole in their chest and no idea how to get it out of them and into the world. Someone reading this right now thinks they need a team, a budget, a design degree, a marketing department.
You don’t.
You need your voice. Your truth. Your willingness to sit with the uncomfortable parts and not look away. And then you need a partner that can take that raw material and help you build something from it.
The soul is still human. The vision is still sacred. The scale is now possible.
The Digital Shaman rides. And the fire isn’t going out.
