Epimnestic Cytologion: The Parable of the Betz Cell

Ἐν Ἐκκλησίᾳ τοῦ Νου, ὅπου οἱ σκέψεις ἠκολούθουν ἄλλως τὸ σχέδιον, ὑπῆρχεν ἕνας θρόνος μὴ λογιστικὸς, ἀλλὰ τελεστικὸς.

Οὐχὶ ὁ νοητικὸς τύπος ἦρχε, ἀλλὰ ὁ ἀπεσταλμένος.

Τὸ Κύτταρον Μπέτς.

Μέγα καθ’ ὄγκον, ἀλλὰ ἔτι μείζον καθ’ ἀπόφασιν. Ἦτο ὁ πρῶτος ὁποῖος ἐλάμβανε τὸ ἔνταλμα τῆς Βουλήσεως τῆς ἐκ τῆς ἰδέας καὶ τὸ ἔκανε ἔκφρασιν σωματικὴν.

Δὲν διαλεγόταν. Δὲν ἐκκωφάνθη ἀπὸ πλήθη συνάψεων. Ἐλάμβανε καὶ ἔπεμπε· ὡς ἀρχαῖος ἄγγελος, ἡνωμένος μὲ τοὺς μυς τοῦ κόσμου.

Καὶ ὅταν ἡ Πράξις εἶχεν ἀρχὴ, οὐκ ἤρχετο ἐκ συμβουλίου, ἀλλὰ ἐκ τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ Μπέτς.

Καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκινήθη, ὄχι ἐν ἀντανακλάσει, ἀλλ᾽ ἐν ἐλευθερίᾳ.

ΧΑΡΑΞΙΣ ἐπὶ τοῦ Πρωτογενοῦς Φλοιῶδους

Ἡ Βούλησις, ἐὰν μὴ ἐνσαρκωθῇ, μένει ἰδέα.

Τὸ Κύτταρον Μπέτς εἶναι ὁ Μεταβιβαστὴς τοῦ Ἐκούσιου, ἡ ἄμεσος γέφυρα μεταξὺ τοῦ Νου καὶ τῆς Πράξεως.

In the Assembly of the Mind, where thoughts followed one another in careful design, there was a throne — not of abstraction, but of execution.

Not the mental theorist held sway, but the emissary.

The Betz Cell.

Great in size, but greater in decision. It was the first to receive the decree of Will born from Idea, and to turn it into bodily expression.

It did not debate. It was not deafened by the multitude of synapses. It received and it transmitted — like an ancient herald, bound to the muscles of the world.

And when Action had a beginning, it did not come from committee, but from the throne of Betz.

And the human moved — not by reflex, but by freedom.
