Dickinson Teen Ava Hauck Honored by Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Hauck receives Founding Family Membership as first Youth Trailblazer honoree

MEDORA, N.D.— The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library honored Dickinson High School student Ava Hauck on June 11 as the first Youth Trailblazer honoree, recognizing her work developing an artificial intelligence-powered diagnostic tool designed to improve access to medical testing.

Hauck, founder and CEO of Clinivue, received a Founding Family Membership from the Library during a recognition ceremony held in the breezeway of the monumental Theodore Roosevelt presidential Library.

The recognition ceremony included Hauck’s family, Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library representatives Chris Blackwell, vice president of operations, and Matt Briney, chief communications officer, as well as Youth Trailblazer correspondent LeAnn Stasiowski.

Hauck developed Clinivue as a science fair project before expanding the idea into a technology venture focused on assisting with the detection of hematological diseases in low-resource settings.

Youth Trailblazer, founded and spearheaded by Dickinson community writer LeAnn Stasiowski, recognizes students across North Dakota who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation in STEM, conservation and civic engagement. The initiative uses feature storytelling to highlight young people whose work reflects a commitment to improving their communities and the lives of others.

The Youth Trailblazer program launched in Dickinson and will recognize up to four students each year through community partnerships and storytelling.

The Founding Family Membership is a limited designation available during the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library’s inaugural year. The membership provides permanent recognition as founding members, early access to programming and select experiences, and complimentary general admission during the Library’s opening period.

Hauck’s work reflects qualities Theodore Roosevelt championed throughout his life, including a spirit of curiosity and a commitment to taking action.

As the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library prepares to welcome visitors, Hauck’s recognition marks the beginning of an effort to highlight young people carrying forward the values associated with Roosevelt’s legacy in the Badlands.
