China-Pakistan Agricultural Investment Conference (8) | Jinan livestock model goes to sea with Pakistan to open a new path for cross-border livestock cooperation

As the core pillar of Pakistan’s agriculture, the Punjab Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Bureau is responsible for enhancing livestock productivity, promoting scientific farming, strengthening epidemic prevention and control, improving the supply chain system, and contributing to rural economic development.

During the discussion, Dr. ATIA BUKHARI gave a detailed introduction to the strategic layout and practical results of the bureau in the fields of breed improvement, digital farming, and veterinary service network construction. He also expressed the hope to cooperate deeply with the Jinan Municipal Animal Husbandry Association in breed cultivation, sharing technologies for epidemic prevention and control, and training animal husbandry talents, and to learn from the Chinese experience to solve the development bottlenecks of local farming efficiency and product quality.

Li Yanqin first expressed high appreciation for the work of the Punjab Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Bureau in the construction of digital and precise control and service systems, and then introduced the functional positioning and core advantages of the Jinan City Animal Husbandries Association. Li Yanqin highlighted Jinan city’s mature programs in breed cultivation, standardized procedures for epidemic prevention and control, and skilled talent cultivation.

Through the years of technological accumulation and industrial advantages, it is highly compatible with the development needs of Punjab. She expressed willingness to work with the Punjab Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Bureau to align Jinan’s advanced technology, mature model and resource advantage with Pakistan’s industrial base and market demand, and jointly create a demonstration benchmark for agricultural cooperation under the CPEC framework.

During the talks, the two sides reached preliminary consensus on three core areas: in the field of breeding, exploring joint selection and embryo transfer technical cooperation for high-quality livestock and poultry breeds, and accelerating the process of animal breed improvement in Punjab. In the field of epidemic prevention and control, we will build a technology-sharing platform to share the practical achievements of Jinan in animal immunization, disease monitoring and purification, and help Pakistan improve its veterinary prevention and treatment system. In terms of talent training, relying on the resource advantages of the Jinan Municipal College of Animal Husbandry Industry Craftsmen, it carries out customized skills training to cultivate professional talents with modern farming technology and management capabilities.
