I doubt I’ll ever fall in love with another.

And it’s not because I still love him or can’t let go. It’s because he shattered a part of me that was capable of loving and trusting.

He demonstrated how heartless a person can be, and I have no wish to meet another like him.

So, I’d rather not meet anyone at all.

I am terrified of falling in love, but also terrified of living without it. They claim that embracing your concerns leads to the best results, which may be true. I might plunge into the deep end and achieve true happiness and tranquility, or I may discover what I am terrified of.

I am not afraid of emotion, romance, or dating; rather, I am afraid of being so reliant on them that if I lose them, I lose myself as well.

And I will not lose myself again.
