This 80" hybrid cabinet mirrors the left anchor structurally — but introduces tool-dense storage below and vertical storage above.

This completes the architectural frame of the modular wall.

🛠 Build Sequence

Step 1 — Assemble Carcass

Install the bottom, mid divider, and top between the side panels.

Pre-drill and glue all joints.

Confirm square.

Step 2 — Install Structural Back

Secure ¾" back panel.

This prevents racking under drawer load.

Unlike thin backs, this handles slide shear force.

Step 3 — Install Drawer Slides

Install four pairs of full-extension slides.

Even spacing recommended:

• Bottom drawer taller (heavier tools) • Upper drawers shorter (hand tools)

Full-extension slides allow complete tool visibility.

Step 4 — Build Drawer Boxes

Use ½" plywood for weight efficiency.

Secure ¼" or ½" bottoms, depending on expected load.

Heavy tool drawer estimated load: 40–60 lbs.

100 lb-rated slides provide a strong safety margin.

Step 5 — Install Upper Door Section

Install shelf pin holes.

Mount double doors using 2–3 hinges per door.

Upper storage for lighter equipment.

Step 6 — Stud Anchoring

Anchor the cabinet into the studs using 3" structural screws.

Minimum:

• 4 screws into at least 2 studs.

Base transfers weight to the floor.

Wall anchoring prevents tipping.
