In Portugal, who needs to get your updated Resident Card number?

So, your renewed Título de Residência (Residence Card) finally arrived! You may need to notify some government agencies or companies of the new ID number.

Which records do you need to update?

• Check to see if Finanças wants the new number
• IMT (you need to make appointment, cannot do online)
• Segurança Social
• Your local centro de saúde
• Your account at CP.pt
• Any private hospital systems
• Bank accounts (unless you want to use passport instead of 3-year card)

Here’s hoping that when my card expires in 2029 it takes a lot less than 1 year to get the next one!
