There is More Than 1 Stonehenge

Carnac, France

Carnac, France

Most likely, you have heard about the most famous ancient structure called Stonehenge and it is located in England. But did you know that there are over 14 of these ancient mysterious sites throughout the world?

We will mention those in a few moments, but first, we want to talk a little bit about these ancient structures in a generic sense and from the biblical view. At first glance, the presence of these many stone circles tell us that there must have been a). a united society or b). a lot of communication between the pre-flood civilization’s different countries.

We say that because like the modern world and its many skyscrapers the different countries of the world sent ambassadors, tourists, etc., around the world and they came back with the news about the tall buildings they saw. One thing leads to another and soon those countries without a skyscraper soon have some.

Since the pre-flood world is exactly like the modern world, there may have been a lot of communication between population zones. Then because these structures are basically aligned in the same manner, constructed with the same material, we could say that a false religion or united community built those mysterious stone structures people from.

What makes us place these different stonehenges in the pre-flood world starts with the Michigan version. It is found under lake Michigan covered in tons of water. We are not concerned about the scientific dating at all here.

Another reason that we place these mysterious structures in the pre-flood era is that there are no manuscripts, oral histories, any ancient records by the people of the countries these monuments are found n describing who built them, why they were built, and when they were built.

There is also none of the same types of records found in any neighboring country. As you know the Eiffel Tower, The Statue of Liberty and other great post-flood monuments are talked about by hundreds of countries and their people around the globe even today. The silence speaks volumes here.

If you click on this link you will be taken to an article on our sister site talking about a Graham Hancock lecture. In that lecture, Mr. Hancock talks about how many scientists are now accepting the concept that a flood destroyed earlier civilizations.

Those scientists are not accepting Noah’s flood and either push the date back 10,000 + years or so and call for between 8 and 80 floods to have caused the destruction they now see. The evidence uncovered by unbelievers is proving the biblical record true. This means these ancient stone structures were built prior to the biblical flood.

There is no other explanation for their existence and the inability to understand the why, who, and when about them.

Here is a list of some of these stonehenges including the most famous of all.

1. Dolmens of North Caucasus in Russia- Their designs are precise, with stones shaped to fit into place just so. No one knows what function they served, or who built them, but more continue to be discovered. The house-like structures contain remnants of ancient pottery, human remains, jewelry, and bronze tools.

2. Drombeg stone circle in Ireland- In the Irish countryside, megaliths were formed into a circle that aligns with the sunset on the winter solstice

3. Rujm el-Hiri in Israel- the Rujm el-Hiri megalithic monument in northern Israel near the Sea of Galilee contains over 40,000 basalt rocks. The circles range from 8 feet in height to 15 feet tall in the center.

4. Carnac Stones in France- In Brittany, France, more than 3,000 stones have stood in careful rows since as early as 4500 BCE. Local legend says the stones were once soldiers, frozen in place for all eternity

5. Taulas of Menorca, Spain- On the island of Menorca in the Mediterranean Sea, megalithic monuments called taulas (Catalan for “tables”) attract visitors far and wide. Archaeologists aren’t sure what purpose the taulas served, though it’s possible they held some religious or astronomical significance.

6. Rollright Stones in England- The Rollright Stones consist of three major formations, constructed at different times throughout the Neolithic and Bronze Age: the Whispering Nights dolmen, the King’s Men stone circle, and the King Stone.

7. Callanish Stones in Scotland- Constructed in the Neolithic era and used throughout the Bronze Age, the Callanish standing stones are among the most beautiful megalithic formations in the world. From the side, they may seem like a jumble of rocks — but they were actually laid out carefully, with a stone in the center, a circle around it, and rows of rocks radiating outward. Academics theorize that the stones were a site of lunar observation

8. Nabta playa: 1,000 years older than Stonehenge- Among the many mysteries the Sahara desert has, there is one that in particular that has caused a lot of interest among archaeologists: A strange stone formation that just as Stonehenge in England, seems to have been created thousands of years ago as an astronomical calendar.

9. The Amazonian ‘Stonehenge- an ancient civilization created an ancient astronomical observatory composed of 27 blocks of granite, each up to 4 meters tall, standing upright in a circle measuring over 30 meters in diameter.

10 Armenia’s Stonehenge: Predating the Pyramids of Egypt by 3,000 years- One of the most curious Stonehenge-like structures is located in Armenia and is called Carahunge or Karahunj. Not only because it is a sophisticated astronomical observatory,…the Armenian stone circle has curious beings with elongated heads and almond shaped eyes depicted on some of the rocks.

11 Lake Michigan’s underwater stone circle- Located at the bottom of Lake Michigan, underwater archeologists have discovered a curious rock formation that they believe is around 9,000 years old.

According to researchers, not only is there a complex site at the bottom of the lake, but diving expeditions have photographed intricate carvings on submerged boulders.

12 An astronomical observatory in Australia, around 11,000 years old- The Wurdi Youang stone arrangement, located some 45km west of Melbourne, was created over 11 thousand years ago, using some 90 blocks of basalt said a custodian, Reg Abrahams. The ancient site clearly identifies the equinox, the winter solstice, and the summer solstice.

13 Stonehenge 2.0- Located around two kilometers from the popular megalithic Stonehenge monument in the south of the UK, researchers have discovered a massive stone arrangement of around 90 pieces of megalithic blocks of stone. The stones were discovered by experts around one meter beneath the surface.

14 Arkaim: The Russian Stonehenge- Another fascinating ancient site is located in the Southern Urals steppe, 8.2 kilometers north-to-northwest of Amurskiy. It’s not just a massive formation but a settlement. Imagine it like Stonehenge, only much bigger and with houses in its interior.

15 Stonehenge- you can read about it at the following link– https://www.londontoolkit.com/whattodo/stonehenge_mystery.htm

At this link, you will read about many modern attempts to duplicate these stonehenges, but for the most part, we know who the builders were, why they built them, and when they were built.

The one exception would be the one called America’s Stonehenge and its description is found at this link. The Stonehenges of the world provides testimony to God, his judgement and his hatred of sin.
