Creating a Weather Safety Guide with Book Creator

This screencast is part of my 1st grade Weather and Seasons PBL unit. The goal of this lesson is for students to learn how to use Book Creator to make a digital Weather Safety Guide. In this project, students will show what they have learned about different types of weather and how to stay safe during them.

Before this lesson, students will learn about weather through class discussions, books, videos, and weather observations. They will also keep a weather journal and talk about ways people stay safe during different weather conditions.

At the beginning of the lesson, I will explain the project and show students the screencast. The video will walk them through how to use Book Creator step by step. After watching, students will start creating their own Weather Safety Guides by adding text, pictures, and recordings of their voices. While students work, I will help anyone who has questions. When everyone is finished, students will share their books with the class and their families.
