If you look at my messages, social media posts, or conversations, there is one emoji you will probably see again and again:

🙏

Most people use it to say “Thank you,” “Please,” or “Namaste.”

I use it for all these reasons too. But for me, this emoji carries something much deeper.

It says Shukrana (शुकराना ).

It tells me to be grateful — not only when life gives me happiness, success, love, and beautiful surprises, but also when life becomes difficult.

My journey has not always been smooth.

There have been unexpected turns, challenging moments, disappointments, and experiences that could have made me question everything.

I have survived situations that taught me how quickly life can change. During those moments, gratitude became more than a positive habit.

It became my strength.

Whenever I send 🙏, I am sometimes saying:

“Thank you for protecting me.”

Sometimes:

“Thank you for giving me another day.”

And sometimes:

“I may not understand what is happening, but I still trust that something meaningful will come from it.”

Over the years, gratitude slowly became a part of everything I do. It entered my writing. It became part of the songs I create.

It became a message that I wanted to share with people who were searching for hope, healing, abundance, or simply one peaceful thought at the end of a difficult day.

That is why 🙏 does not feel like an ordinary emoji to me. It feels like a small prayer.

  • When someone shares good news with me, I use it to celebrate their blessing.
  • When someone appreciates my work, I use it because a simple “Thank you” sometimes feels too small.
  • When someone is going through pain, 🙏 becomes my silent prayer for them.
  • And when words are not enough, this emoji says what my heart wants to say.

Life has also taught me that gratitude does not mean pretending everything is perfect. It does not mean ignoring pain.

It means finding one reason to be thankful even when many things are uncertain.

Some days, that reason may be family. Some days, it may be health. Some days, it may be a new opportunity. And on difficult days, simply waking up and receiving one more chance can be enough.

Perhaps that is why I use 🙏 so often. It tells me that every day carries something worthy of gratitude, even if we have to look a little deeper to find it.

So, if you ever receive 🙏 from me, please know that it is not just an emoji —

It carries my gratitude. It carries my faith. It carries my prayers.

And sometimes, it quietly says:

“Thank you, life. Shukrana for everything.” 🙏
