Waves

Pandemic reflections.

PC: Christina Daniels

PC: Christina Daniels

The pandemic comes In waves.

Waves Of stillness.

Waves Of conversation.

Waves Of fatigue.

Waves Of strength.

Waves Of scarcity.

Waves Of surfeit.

Waves Of bodies.

Waves Of recoveries.

Waves Of despair.

Waves Of hope.

Like life, In flux.

It ebbs. It flows.

Erasing Footprints, In the sand.

Exposing The fragility Of all existence.

This poem was written during the global pandemic of 2020. Unofficial estimates place the number of deaths due to the pandemic between 1.8 and 3 million in a single year. It was first published in my book Being, Becoming, Being.
