The Sheer Scale of Orange Web3’s Mainnet Launch
When we first started providing technology for Orange Web3, the expectations were clear but modest. At the time, we were looking at a possible 26,000 wallet holders migrating across from us. A decent number, but nothing that suggested what was to come.
The going was slow, I won’t sugarcoat it. Adoption lagged, integrations dragged, and momentum wasn’t immediate. But then something shifted, not because of hype, but because of the quiet gravitational pull of Orange Web3’s partners.
Sadly, I can’t take credit for any of that despite often being labelled as being everything, everyone and every builder, it’s absurd but deeply flattering, but this is, and I am not afraid to say, well beyond my wildest capabilities. Even Chuck Norris only has 40 hours in a day and he couldn’t get all of this done. I have been termed a backyard and hobbyist block-chainer, and even that is flattering, so to accomplish this would be, well, a miracle. I’m just honored to play what in retrospect will be a very small part and contribution.
This is a multitude of teams doing amazing work and providing amazing technology but nothing could prepare any of us for what would come next.
From Trials to Millions
What began as a migration project morphed into something much bigger. Orange kicked off an on-chain gaming trial, and over the span of just over a year, that experiment clocked 20 million games played on-chain.
Orange Games, once a closed system, became the proving ground. Then came the SDK release that changed everything, suddenly, third-party games, even some vibe-coded experiments, could flow into the Goama-powered platform. Goama, for context, has over 1 billion gameplays under its belt.
At the same time, Vibecodinglist.com was born. It didn’t just launch quietly, it surged. It launched at an opportune time and in an area of growing interest, before the real interest arrived. The Orange Vibe Jam Hackathon became the richest in the world at the time, with over 2,000 registrants and more than 60 finalists, every single one integrated with Orange ID. That’s when things started to accelerate. With hundreds of new users a day and climbing, the platform is going from strength to strength and so is the entire vibe coding industry.
The Network Effect in Action
Today, there are over 400 games and apps listed, with new submissions arriving daily. A token launcher has gone live. Another third-party launcher is coming within days to a separate site built by a team of seasoned development veterans. And fresh community-driven platforms are spinning up around the ecosystem, like OrangeJuiced.com, a hybrid directory, job board, and developer portal that will quickly becoming an anchor for creators. New, baron and unpolished to begin, this is the beauty of VCL, get something up and get instant feedback. Monetise and get feedback as you go.
The real shock, though, was this, the blockchain trial succeeded. Not just in theory, but in practice. Which means that up to 3.5 million new users are now guaranteed to be onboarded to the new Orange Web3 mainnet, 2.6 million of them recently active. The hole in the market for what Orange Games offered is immeasurable and it’s going to go from strength to strength.
That number dwarfs anything we first anticipated.
Ava Cloud, Avalanche, and the Scale Question
The question for all of the Orange Web3 partners wasn’t about users, it was about scale. And scale is where so many web3 projects falter. To bring millions safely into a new L1 requires not only vision but also hardened infrastructure.
That’s why Orange Web3 entrusted Ava Cloud and Ava Labs with the backbone of the network. Proof of Authority (PoA) may not be glamorous, but it’s responsible, the only safe way to onboard millions before decentralisation later. And Avalanche? I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. But the decision has been vindicated and was made by people much smarter with blockchain technology than I will ever be.
Avalanche is drawing global enterprises like Toyota to its services. Its enterprise pedigree, sub-second finality, and scalable architecture make it the only network capable of facilitating growth at this magnitude in such a short time.
More Than the Chain
Of course, Avalanche isn’t the only name in the mix. We’ve seen PYTH step in for oracles, Chainlink deliver CCIP bridging, Thirdweb streamline contracts, and countless others who have made this ecosystem not just viable but vibrant. We’ve worked alongside builders, security specialists like SRG Cyber, and an array of dev houses rolling out integrations at pace.
Frankly, I haven’t met all the teams involved, there are too many to name and some I don’t even know, but I know their fingerprints are all over this project.
A Humbling Role
As our main deliverables for Orange Web3 near completion at year’s end, it’s hard not to feel proud. Proud of my team at RedFOX Labs for playing a role. Proud of the architecture we’ve contributed. And proud, most of all, of what Orange Web3 has achieved in such a short time.
Our part may shrink from here, but our support won’t. And as we reach our final deliverable milestones by the end of this year, this is one of those rare times where you can see the momentum, the inevitability, the sheer force of what’s unfolding.
Because make no mistake, 2 to 3 million users at launch gives Orange Web3 a very real shot at becoming the premier creator chain in web3.
The L1 won’t happen in its complete form from day 1, but it will grow responsibly and I am sure there will be many rewards and grants to keep people entertained over what is sure to be an amazing alt season. I for one will be supporting the Orange Web3 team, going forward, in any way I possibly can.
We will continue our work in developing overarching infrastructure and helping the next 100 Orange Web3 platforms get their start in life.
