Inefficient Government, Unimpressive Politicians

Everyone is a shallow, unhappy consumer drifting towards death without seeking understanding of the possibility for improvement. We certainly have different priorities. One person worries about the environment and the blatant, simply unfair distribution of wealth and opportunities. Another is jealous and spiteful, bitter and unwise. Gossiping about their coworker who has shown up three minutes late a few times while suffocating in a low-paying, meaningless job.

Moving to politics, we are rolling down a hill. We are bogged down and purely inefficient. Is this perception of spiraling normal and how it has always been? A part of human nature? Is it just intensified now that we have more recorded measurements and comparisons, even video proof?

At this time, the momentum of people’s predetermined voting alignment results in the most ineffective top-down government. With recent presidents who cannot even communicate. A complete embarrassment to the United States. I felt vulnerable with Biden and ashamed with Trump.

We can maintain the intentional and simultaneous top-down and bottom-up structure, but we are bogged down currently. We need a spark. I suggest this spark comes from the people, local communities. Not the unimpressive, greedy top. Real people who struggle every day.

I wish there could be fewer labels on who is a Democrat or a Republican. An election centered purely around accessible live debates between candidates. Lobbying is disgusting. Social media is a parasite as well. Have politicians speak to elected students across colleges and trade schools in America. Let’s bypass the pandering media with their hidden agendas.

I want the United States to be the country people want to move to again. Where the smartest, most ambitious minds come to. Not a country plagued with reputation-ruining presidents.

Have each candidate write out a plan to save the United States. Written in a layman’s yet detailed way. Here is what I will do with a Republican Senate; here is what I will do with a Democratic House. Have each Senate and House candidate be straightforward beforehand on whether they would vote in a way that supports the president’s plan to save the United States. With the plan consisting of specific action steps which are reasonably achievable in four years. And their suggestion for the following president to maintain the path set in place. Not generalities made for the audience to applaud.

An age limit for the president and the Supreme Court. Really, many people see them as 60 years behind, not 60 years ahead. And don’t be tricked; there definitely needs to be a cap on how much money someone can have.

Politicians are not impressive at all. They are just smug marketers walking around. Lacking innovation, even lacking the ability to clearly communicate. We have the technology and resources; find a way for people to vote directly on more laws. Give more power to the local communities, allow policies to emerge from neighborhoods and be approved by their state government. Let the federal government have macroscopic and firm rules. Implement participatory budgeting presented in an easy-to-understand slideshow rather than some rehearsed, incoherent, and lobbied politician. Teach students the things to become prepared voters.

We need focused action.
