BOBCARD Cashback vs Snapdeal BOBCARD: Which One Actually Earns More

Both cards offer 5% on online shopping. Both cost under ₹500 a year. On the surface they look like the same product at different price points. They are not, and picking the wrong one based on your actual shopping habits will cost you real money every month.

The Core Difference

BOBCARD Cashback gives you 5% across all eligible online platforms — Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, Nykaa, and more — up to ₹1,500 cashback per month. Snapdeal BOBCARD gives you 5% specifically on Snapdeal with no monthly cap, and 2.5% everywhere else.

If you shop across multiple platforms, Cashback wins. If Snapdeal is your primary destination and you spend heavily there, Snapdeal BOBCARD wins by a significant margin once you cross the Cashback card’s monthly ceiling.

Where Each Card Makes More Sense

The BOBCARD Cashback card’s strongest feature is not just the earn rate — it is the zero-effort cashback. Every month, cashback credits automatically to your statement. No app login, no redemption portal, no minimum threshold. For passive earners who want real money back without managing points, this is genuinely valuable at ₹499 a year.

The breakeven is fast. At 5% cashback, you recover the annual fee with just ₹9,980 in eligible online spend across the year. Anyone spending ₹1,000 a month online is in profit within the first month.

The Snapdeal BOBCARD makes its case on two fronts. First, the uncapped 5% on Snapdeal. A ₹50,000 Snapdeal month — not unusual during a major sale — returns ₹2,500 in cashback. The BOBCARD Cashback card stops at ₹1,500 regardless of how much you spend. Second, the annual fee of ₹249 is the lowest in the entire BOBCARD range. Breakeven requires just ₹4,980 in Snapdeal spend per year, which most regular users clear in a single order.

One thing worth knowing: since July 2025, Snapdeal BOBCARD reward points require manual redemption through the BOBCARD app, with a minimum 1,000 points before you can redeem. The previous auto-credit mechanism is gone. This partially erodes the card’s convenience advantage and makes the Cashback card’s automatic crediting relatively more appealing if you prefer a set-and-forget approach.

The Network Difference That Most People Ignore

BOBCARD Cashback runs on Mastercard. Snapdeal BOBCARD runs on RuPay. For online shopping this makes no practical difference. For daily life it does.

RuPay credit cards can be linked to GPay, PhonePe, and Paytm for UPI payments. Every QR scan at a kirana store, restaurant, or autorickshaw earns base reward points on the Snapdeal BOBCARD. Mastercard cannot be linked to UPI at all. For anyone using UPI extensively for daily transactions, this extends the Snapdeal BOBCARD’s earning potential well beyond Snapdeal purchases.

The Numbers Side by Side

At ₹30,000 monthly Snapdeal spend, both cards earn ₹1,500. Above that, Snapdeal BOBCARD pulls ahead with no ceiling. At ₹50,000 Snapdeal spend, it returns ₹2,500 versus the Cashback card’s capped ₹1,500.

For mixed spending of ₹10,000 on Snapdeal and ₹20,000 on other platforms, BOBCARD Cashback earns ₹1,500 against Snapdeal BOBCARD’s ₹1,000. The broader platform coverage consistently wins for multi-platform shoppers below the cap.

Should You Hold Both?

At a combined annual fee of ₹748, holding both is a legitimate strategy for high-volume online shoppers. Use Cashback for Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra. Use Snapdeal BOBCARD for Snapdeal purchases and daily UPI transactions. Together they cover five high-frequency spend categories at accelerated rates. The combined fee is recovered within the first two months of regular use across both cards.

Neither card is suitable as a standalone primary card for travel, dining, or offline spending. Both work best as specialist cards paired with a broader rewards card for everything else.

The Verdict

For most Indian online shoppers who spread purchases across multiple platforms, BOBCARD Cashback is the stronger everyday card. The automatic cashback, broader platform coverage, and zero admin make it the more practical choice.

For dedicated Snapdeal shoppers spending ₹20,000 or more per month on the platform, the Snapdeal BOBCARD’s uncapped 5% is difficult to beat at ₹249 a year. No other card in India currently offers uncapped 5% on a single platform at that fee point.
