After Competing with Thousands of Applicants, New Students Officially Join MATAMUDA 2026

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — MAN 1 Yogyakarta welcomed the 2026/2027 academic year with the opening ceremony of Masa Taaruf Murid Madrasah (MATAMUDA) on Monday (13/7/2026). The event marked the beginning of the school orientation program for all new students.

Head of MAN 1 Yogyakarta, Edi Triyanto, S.Ag., S.Pd., M.Pd., led the ceremony. In his speech, Edi congratulated the new students who had successfully completed the New Student Admission (PMB) process amid strong competition.

“Congratulations to all students who have successfully passed the MAN 1 Yogyakarta admission process among thousands of applicants. I hope all new students can quickly adapt to the school environment, learning culture, and the entire MAN 1 Yogyakarta community,” Edi said.

He emphasized that education in a madrasah is not only about transfer of knowledge, or delivering academic knowledge, but also about transfer of values, which means developing positive values and good character in everyday life.

Edi then encouraged the entire MAN 1 Yogyakarta community to apply five main values: carrying out every activity with the intention of lillahi ta’ala (for the sake of Allah), building strong character, being active and adaptable, having the courage to achieve excellence, and becoming ambassadors of the madrasah in society.

“Students should not only excel academically, but also have strong character, be able to adapt to change, have the courage to achieve, and carry the good name of the madrasah wherever they go,” he emphasized.

The opening of MATAMUDA 2026 was marked by the presentation of participant badges by the Head of MAN 1 Yogyakarta to two representatives of the new students. They were Ahmad Musyaffa Yusuf, who achieved the highest score through the Tahfiz admission pathway, and Almahyra Althaf Fayra, who achieved the highest score through the regular admission pathway.

The presentation of the badges symbolized the beginning of the MATAMUDA program and marked the first step for new students to learn more about the culture, rules, educational programs, and outstanding values of MAN 1 Yogyakarta.

Through MATAMUDA 2026, the new students are expected to adapt quickly, develop a strong enthusiasm for learning, and grow into a generation that is knowledgeable, has strong character, and is confident in achieving excellence. (dee)
