GOD’S SPIRIT BRINGS COMFORT AND PEACE

Through this article, dear reader. You discover the comfort brought from the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit. Once you surrender your heart, your life and your love to Jesus. By accepting Jesus Christ, the beloved Son of Almighty God as your Saviour, Lord and God. Almighty God places into your heart Jesus’ Spirit. It is God the Holy Spirit that Jesus speaks of. “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” (John 14:16, ESV)

Reflection. Walking in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

You experience times of sadness. You have moments of heartache. There are days of heart wrenching loneliness. These are the times when you feel the comforting love of Jesus’ Spirit. When you spend time with the Father in prayer. It is God’s Spirit that strengthens you. God’s Spirit reminds you of specific Bible verses. Verses speaking the words needed for the distinct situation you are facing. The Spirit brings peace in troubled times. Awakening memories of how very much the Father loves you.

You may not find the words to pray to the Father. Again, God the Holy Spirit steps in as your helper. “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26, ESV)

God the Holy Spirit intercedes on your behalf. Your prayer is offered into the very presence of God your loving Father. No prayer goes unheard or misunderstood. God the Holy Spirit reads your heart and tells Almighty God. What it is that you are unable to speak. You encounter times of suffering and times of sheer joy. God the Holy Spirit is near, no that is not close enough. He dwells within. Providing you comfort and sharing your joy and happiness.

The Holy Spirit presents to you, treasures and mysteries too great to miss.

For me, the Holy Word of God holds mysteries beyond wonder. “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him. These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:9–10, ESV) All true and faithful Christians have access to God’s wisdom and the love and mind of Jesus Christ. God’s Holy Spirit is within you. He helps you and shows you the way.

For me, it is in the Holy Word of God that Almighty God’s truth is to be found. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16, ESV) As you read and study the Holy Word of God. Hidden and secret truths are revealed through God’s Spirit.

The wisdom of God — the Gospel of Christ — the “good news” of Jesus.

God Almighty is far above you in His wisdom. This is where you turn to the indwelling of God’s Spirit for guidance. As you sit each day, Bible in hand and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, secrets unfold. Hidden treasures, great mysteries abound. Your part in this detective plot is diligent searching. God’s Spirit makes it possible for you to believe and understand. But you only find hidden truth and secrets by constant searching.

Before you open your Bible, a few words of prayer to God the Father. God the Holy Spirit stirs within you. Guiding you, leading you in your understanding and comprehension. “And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:2, ESV)

God’s Holy Word clearly states wisdom as highly important. At the time of conversion, of accepting Christ as your Savior and Lord. God’s Spirit, the Spirit of Wisdom is placed in your heart. From this moment until forever this Wisdom is the foundation of your life. The cornerstone of all spiritual understanding.

God’s Wisdom is your sustenance, your spiritual food and your life’s bread. I believe you need to address the study of God’s Holy Word as if your very life depended upon it. As indeed it does.

The indwelling of God the Holy Spirit. Ever present, ever guiding.

God’s Holy Word is a living and active text. With the stirring and guidance of God’s Spirit. The Bible changes your life. You have a unique style of learning of Jesus through the Holy Word of God. God’s Spirit of understanding grants you the mind of Christ. As you study and read the New Testament and the many teachings of Jesus. God’s Spirit turns on the light of understanding in your mind and heart.

As you sit quietly, Bible on your lap. You come across sections beyond your understanding. This is where you turn to the Father in prayer. Remembering God is the author of the Bible. It is His Holy Word you are reading and trying with all your heart to understand.

As you pray and wait patiently for God to answer, you read on. In God’s own timing the “lights” shine on and understanding of this section comes. It may be days or even weeks later. But when the time is right, understanding will shine through.

Reading God’s Holy Word as if your life depended on it brings such joy. You see Jesus in a brand-new light. You see the simple things He does as acts of pure and sweet love. The morning He cooked a breakfast of fish and bread for His closest friends. The love that accompanied this act and this simple meal brought His apostles such comfort.

The more you read of and about your Lord. The more God’s Spirit teaches you of Christ your friend. As you read and partake of the love of Christ. The Spirit of Understanding operates within your heart.

You have within your heart and spirit. God’s Spirit of Understanding as your beacon to shine your way to Jesus. When you take the time to approach God in prayer. To sit quietly at His feet and hear His Word and listen to what He has to say. You take it all in and with the aid of His Spirit. You understand and know what He requires of you.

God’s Holy Spirit shows you the way to Jesus your Lord, your Saviour, your Friend.
