The Gang of Crooked, Stupid People Who Don’t Care About Our Country

Trump’s hypocrisy always tells the larger truth

By now, most people have heard about CBS News firing one of their veteran reporters, Scott Pelley.

Pelley is an iconic voice of 60 Minutes and has done incredible work as a journalist including covering war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.

CBS News has been a shitshow for a while now so it’s no surprise to hear about them firing multiple long-time journalists. The contentious situation with Pelley is another scandal that has led to many people deciding to cancel their Paramount Plus subscription and declaring they will no longer watch CBS News or 60 Minutes ever again.

Here’s the thing: not watching 60 Minutes is probably what the new bosses want since getting rid of it seems to be a goal. Keep in mind that before selling CBS to David Ellison’s SkyDance Media, Paramount agreed to settle a lawsuit with the current administration over a 60 Minutes interview with then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

They paid a sitting president $16 million in a case that most legal experts saw as baseless. How is anyone to take them seriously?

Last year, John Dickerson left CBS Evening News and what he said after the settlement was announced sums up the issue with CBS and the media landscape in general:

“The Paramount settlement poses a new obstacle. Can you hold power to account after paying it millions? Can an audience trust you when it thinks you’ve traded away that trust?”

Our current POTUS made comments about Scott Pelley before it was publicly announced that CBS fired him.

He said on a podcast:

“Look, Scott Pelley’s a stiff and he’s afraid and he’s part of this, you know, gang of crooked, stupid people that don’t care about our country.”

This is coming from someone who has never seen a war zone because he was able to dodge military service.

The same man who has a history of refusing to pay contractors, taken gifts from foreign leaders, interfered with elections, threatened to annihilate Iran and refused to address the inhumane treatment of immigrants in detention centers around the country.

The same man who asked the DOJ to prosecute his political enemies while creating an anti-weaponization fund that could dispense payouts to the January 6, 2021 rioters at the Capitol.

The same man who claims to stand for law and order while signing executive orders to release those same criminals who descended upon the Capitol.

The same man who coerced businesses to end DEI programs while hiring friends, allies and family into positions they are unqualified to hold.

The same man who allowed Doge access to the private information of millions of Americans without insuring any safety or security measures were in place to protect their data.

The same man who used his position to cement a deal with the IRS that essentially protects him, his family and friends from any legal tax audits.

Gang of crooked, stupid people who don’t care about our country seems to apply to his own administration and the people who have sworn their allegiance to a man who doesn’t even care that his constituents are struggling to pay for basics like food, shelter and gas.

One would think that a sitting president has better things to do with his time than criticize journalists for doing their job. That lack of self-awareness can only see the faults of others.

Isn’t it ironic that his criticisms of others often apply to him and his own leadership?

He is the epitome of living in a glass house while throwing stones.
