Regina Maestri moves out of her district

Regina Maestri, a city council member for District 1 in the City of Pueblo who has recently caused controversy surrounding the possibility of introducing an anti-abortion ordinance, appears to have moved out of her district.

Back in May she announced she was seeking the at-large seat and the Chieftain reported at the time “Maestri currently lives in northwest Pueblo. But her “personal circumstances have changed” and she is looking to buy another home in town, she told the Chieftain Friday morning.” At the time a source sent me the following messages:

As you can see above, in May of this year, after Maestri had already announced her intention for the At-Large seat and told the Chieftain she was looking to buy another home in town, I was informed the property she was looking at was in the Walking Stick golf course area, which is important because that’s exactly where she appears to have moved to.

In a September 10th KRDO news report she was seen in the backyard of what appears to be the property she was looking at in May of this year:

After a viewer noticed this background — which shows the Walking Stick golf course in the reflection of the glass — did not appear to be her District 1 home, we began investigating.

We found she is apparently selling some of her old furniture on Facebook marketplace:

It appears after Maestri lost her bid for the at large seat, her alleged boyfriend James Sprague, Colorado Front Range Roofing’s owner, purchased the property according to Pueblo County public records.

The problem of course is this property is located in District 2 according to the City of Pueblo’s open data portal:

Of course all of this could be brushed off as circumstantial, however this journalist was able to confirm she appears to have turned on electricity in her name at the property by using the Black Hills energy Guest Pay feature which requires the last name and property address to make a payment.

Her move out of District 1 is problematic for her, if fully proven, her office is automatically declared vacant per the City of Pueblo charter.
