Corners are everywhere. At the edge of footpaths, where slippers pile up during class. At the bend of a crayon box, where only the shortest ones remain. Corners of notebooks — torn, folded, used to hide spelling mistakes. Corners of the street where no one stops, Where walls meet

Corners are not where things begin. They’re where things are put away. Out of sight. Out of order. Out of reach.

But at Pehchaan The Street School, corners are not the end. They are the start of something quiet. The start of second chances.

Here, learning happens in the corner of a broken mat, a slate balanced on a knee, a question whispered so softly it barely makes it past the lips. But it does. And that’s enough.

Maybe because, here, a question mark doesn’t scare them anymore. It becomes a curly tail of curiosity. An invitation to try again. Mistakes live beside laughter. Corners are no longer places of punishment — they’re shared spaces of trying.

A corner is where a mango candy is split in half. Where two girls bend over the same story. Where a boy underlines his name three times — just because he can. It’s where crayons are passed without asking. Where silence finally gets to sit down.
