The Padres are on runs as a team and as individuals.

The ball club Thursday night completed their third ever, three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners with a 5–2 victory at Petco Park. The win also capped a 7–0 homestand and was the Padres’ eighth straight win.

That ties for the eighth-longest winning streak in franchise history and the Padres’ longest winning streak since an eight-game winning streak in September of 2023.

And there were two notable streaks inside Thursday’s victory.

— Closer Mason Miller struck out the side on 14 pitches in perfect ninth to record his sixth save. The perfect inning extended his scoreless innings streak to 30 2/3, moving him past the late Randy Jones (30 straight scoreless innings in 1980) into second on the list of longest scoreless innings streaks in Padres’ history. Reliever Cla Meredith worked 33 2/3 straight scoreless innings in 2026. Miller has allowed one hit and one walk while striking out 23 of the 30 hitters he’s faced this season for a 0.214 WHIP and a .034 opponents’ batting average. He has struck out the side in five of his last seven appearances.

— C Luis Campusano was 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run to extend his career-best hitting streak to eight straight games (9-for-24 with 4 doubles, a home run, 6 RBIs and 5 runs).

PAD BITS:

— 1B-DH Gavin Sheets has a career-best 7 extra-base hits over his last seven games while going 8-for-28. He has 5 doubles and 2 home runs for 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

— CF Jackson Merrill had a double in 4 at-bats Thursday to extend his hitting streak to six straight games (10-for-24 with 4 doubles, a home run, 6 RBIs and 7 runs.

— LF Ramón Laureano’s run of 4 straight games with an extra-base hit ended Thursday, but he also extended his hitting streak to six straight games by going 1-for-4 with a RBI. He is 9-for-23 during his streak with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs, 4 walks, 7 RBIs and 7 runs.

PADRES HISTORY:

April 17, 2008 — Colorado defeats the Padres 2–1 in a 22-inning marathon at Petco Park. It is the longest game by innings in Padres history. At six hours and 18 minutes, it is also the second-longest game in Padres history by time, missing that mark by one minute. Padres pitchers tie a franchise record with 20 strikeouts in an extra-inning game.

Starting RHP Miguel Mendez (1–0, 1.42 ERA), the Padres’ №3 prospect, gave up 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts Thursday night to earn the win for Double-A San Antonio. C Ethan Salas (.267), the Padres’ №2 prospect, had a RBI double in 3 at-bats with 2 walks and a stolen base. CF-RF Braedon Karpathios (.149), the Padres’ №12 prospect, had a triple in 4 ABs with a run. 1B Romeo Sanabria (.191), the Padres’ №28 prospect, was 0-for-4 with a sacrifice fly.

C Lamar King Jr. (.156), the Padres’ №16 prospect, was 3-for-4 with a double, 2 RBIs, a stolen base and 2 runs scored for High Single-A Fort Wayne.
