Pentagon Unrecognizes 181 Religions

Did you know the U.S. Military has a list of recognized religions? You do now! Thanks Petey Hegseth! The Department of WAR has developed a hierarchy of religions now.

Petey Hegseth has slashed the DOD list from 211 to 30. What did those other 181 eliminated religions do wrong? Oh, right. They’re probably not related to Christian Nationalism.

He wanted to “streamline the DoW collection of religious preferences collection for service members to enhance the delivery of targeted religious support from the Chaplaincy.”

“Enhance the delivery OF TARGETED religious support?”

WTF? Targeted? They mean only certain religions are acceptable. Just like only certain people are acceptable to the Trump military.

No more atheism. Oh, wait. You’re the “NO religion” category. Buddhism has its own special category. If you don’t see your specific faith on the list you’re lumped in with “Other religions." So “Other religions” is a substitute for the religions eliminated from the list?

On the new list, Baptists are all lumped into one group. On the original list there were some 23 different Baptist designations. So are Evangelicals. And Methodists too!

Surprise, Islam is acceptable!

The relationship between this faith and the Donny regime has been contentious.

The Commander-in-disbelief called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

He’s also said previously “Islam hates us” and that there was "a tremendous amount of hatred there."

List has all the Christian religions you could want

Except The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is NOT designated as “Christian.” That pissed off some people. The federal government is deciding what classifies as "Christian" now.

Oh wait! Fast forward 4 days. There’s a revised list of the revised list for the “out-of-control belief coding system.” The Department of Defense has put out a new list. They’ve eliminated the “Christian” designation. And added the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (CJ). Yippee!

We await the lawsuits from the religious groups that got purged. The atheists, pagans, wiccans, Native Americans or any of the other 181 religions. But the DOD will claim the now “other” religion or agnosticism satisfies their recognition. Native Americans shouldn’t stand for OTHER. They’ve suffered enough marginalization.

Thanks, Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. You’ve turned our U.S. Military into a public religious war. We expect this is only the first bomb in the Trump regime’s military religious war. We expect the list will whittle down to one acceptable religion — Christian Nationalism.
