The Apple Ecosystem: Costlier Than You Think

So when I was a kid, I thought Apple so cool and slick. I still think that because of their camera and their UI is to die for, no other UI according to me has reached to the benchmark that Apple has set. That’s exactly why they are booming, because of their design being so smooth and user-friendly (well once you get the hang of it of course), and then their seamless integration of all your devices being connected to each other, to the point where you can even send over your car key to your friend so they can unlock your car.

This, exactly this uniqueness of Apple, it’s so unique that even normal apps like Snapchat and Instagram have something different on an iPhone that you cannot find on any other phone, is what makes Apple, well Apple.

Now we are done with the praising of Apple, well let’s hear my story, I bought an Apple Watch Ultra, pretty cool I know, but then I realised that you need an iPhone to actually make it work, luckily we had an iPhone 8 lying around and it worked for a while, but then my iPhone 8 got out of support and now here I am not being able to update my watch as well. This is the hidden cost I am talking about. So to get the apple watch working I would need a new iPhone again. And then I got an iPad, of course I use it every day but then charger got cut, the official charging cable and YES only a cable is 2000 rupees. Like I get it’s Apple and all but no way it costs them 2000 rupees to make a cable, they get it for a few hundred rupees, they can add a few more rupees for profit but 2000? and they make it in such a way that if you use a knock off, well you can say bye to your iPad. Same with every other device, you need official accessories to go along with your device, and once your device is out of Apple’s timeline, to pair it with your whole ecosystem you have to buy the new device, you keep doing this on and on, and that’s Apple’s plans and well, we are falling for it in the name of luxury and prestige. Even Tim Cook doesn’t want his customers to use his devices too much. So I want to ask you a question, are you ready for the Apple ecosystem?
