9 (Non-Fiction) Books To Gift Your Children (or Grandchildren): Before They Turn 18!
Here Is Why?
I had no exposure to books during my childhood. I regret that so much. If I had, I would have read so many books by now.
In childhood, you have so much free time that it can be utilized for reading. And in turn, you get massive reading speed (& knowledge too). That can help you read books faster when you grow up (when you have less time to read, and more responsibilities).

I started reading in my 30s, and after that, there was no looking back. I fell in love with reading. I have read so many books (mostly non-fiction). What I found is that if I were given the right book at the right time, then it has a great impact on my lifestyle and thinking process, and eventually on my earnings.
So here are those 9 books that I would gift my son, before he turns 18: (and want you to do the same):
1. The Magic Of Thinking BIG — The true secret of success — how to earn more, lead fearlessly and live a happier life:
Most of the time, it happens that we don’t/can’t think big for ourselves.
Reason for that is: (1) Maybe because we don’t believe in what we want to achieve, (2) We may fear many things that don’t let us think big, (3) we have never seen our parents thinking big.
And because of our shallow thinking, we continued to achieve mediocre results.
To achieve something big, we first have to believe in it and turn our fear into confidence. And break free from old conditioning from our parents.
This book will help you overcome your fear with actionable steps, develop a success mindset, and set big goals that inspire the big result.

2. Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!
There is one ignored skill that neither schools teach to children nor are taught by parents to their children. And that is FINANCIAL LITERACY.
We somehow fail to give financial education to our children. The reason is that we never received it. And due to that, we never get financially free and get trapped in what is called the ‘RAT RACE’ (home loan, car loan, education loan & credit card debt, etc).
This book explains financial literacy in an easy, understandable storytelling way.
This book can do a great mindset shift in such a way that, instead of saying “I can’t afford this’ you will start asking ‘How can I afford this?’ And this mindset shift will help you find more ways to earn money (better than a single source of income).
One more point this book teaches is “Asset vs. Liability”. Also help you understand how the things that you consider as assets are actually liabilities. It will help build more assets, thus a more income stream.

3. Think & Grow Rich:
Please don’t take this title literally; it doesn't mean that simply thinking you can become rich and do nothing at all.
Rather than between “think” and “Grow rich,” there are several steps the author has mentioned. And if you follow it, you are set on the path to success and can achieve whatever you want to.
This book will help you set a straight path to your success in this chaotic world.

4. THE CONCISE 48 LAWS OF POWER:
My experience says that only hard work isn’t enough for your success.
Along with hard work, you need to learn how to deal with different kinds of people and situations. This book teaches you exactly those mantras that can give you the upper hand and position you as a powerful person.
In life, we come across diffrent kind of people. Very few are kind and understanding, whereas most may not be kind and might purposely trouble you. Such people keep pokeing you while you are busy doing hard work. And that can deviate you from the path.
This book can help you deal with such people and situation such that you can walk your way to your goal in an easy way without much trouble.

5. The Power Of Now: A Guide To Spiritual Enlightenment:
Have you ever noticed that you always live your life ‘in the past’ or ‘in the future’? But never in the present moment.
Yes, you read that right. You are either fearful about your future or anxious/upset about your past. But never live your life in the present moment because it is hard and needs conscious effort.
Living your life in the present moment is bliss. There is calmness in the present moment. You feel grateful in the present moment. When you are grateful in the present moment, you create a better future.
This book will help you be in the present moment.
A bit difficult in readign but I must say to not skip this and do read it slowly to absorb its understanding.

6. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind:
The core concept of the book is ‘Your dominant thought becomes your reality’.
This is a classic. You must have heard its name before. This book is all about our thinking process, which is most of the time negative.
We are consciously choosing negative thoughts over positive ones. And because of this, our health and surroundings get impacted.
And if we choose positive thoughts, we attract positive situations and can even heal our sever desease with proper thought process.
We have 2 minds, the conscious and subconscious. The conscious mind has much control and can choose what we are thinking and what we do.
Whereas the subconscious is more automatic, which does not need our control and executes what is given to it by consciose mind.
Our conscious mind give thought/ideas/tasks to the subconscious mind, and the subconscious mind executes them. So we have to be so cautious for out though process and use it in our favour.
What is the dominant thought of your conscious mind becomes your reality.

7. The Compound Effect:
This book helped me understand how the small choices that we take in our day-to-day life create a vast impact over the period of time. Because our same efforts get compounded over the period of time and become automatic. Compounding amplifies our efforts, too.
We can use it to our advantage or against us. If our choices are in our favor, then it helps us grow; otherwise, it affects us in a bad way.
Say, for example, there are 2 friends. One chose to read 20 pages of a book every day. Whereas another made a unconsiouse decesion of scrolling on social media.
If this behaviour continues for a year, then a friend who reads 20 pages every end up reading approx 24 books a year (considering one book of 300 pages) and gains so much knowledge.
Whereas another friend who chose to scroll gained nothing, and in return for his/her efforts, he/she might have wasted his 30 minutes(even more than that) doing nothing, and wasted so much time.

8. Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less
Most of the time, people get overwhelmed by so many tasks in hand and the vastness of the task. Due to that, they were never able to choose the task to start.
And again, get overwhelmed by so many pending tasks. The author helped with how to go about this situation. Here, ‘task’ is signified as the ‘frog’ in this book. This book brings proper order and priority to life.

9. Psycho-Cybernetics:
Last but not least, this book is written by a plastic surgeon, who realizes that most people come to him to change their face in the hope that everything in their life would change after the surgery. But it is not true most of the time.
To change your life, you have to change your self-image, which is set deep within your mindset. Even after changing a face, self-image will stay the same, so your internal feeling & self talk will remain the same. This book alos help in perciving new, better self-image.

So these are 9 books that if you gift your children (and grandchildren), it will help them overcome the hurdles that prevent them to have good life, a good mindset, and success.
