Consider this: no person on earth genuinely labors for pain, sorrow, or suffering. These are, in the most mundane sense, things to be escaped. And yet, for most of us, life delivers them generously and without appointment. When we are caught in their grip, every instinct pushes toward release. I won’t dwell on the philosophical weight of suffering here , but I want to point toward something specific: all our lives, we construct a façade of hope. The honest caveat is this: most of this remains hypothetical. We do not yet have the empirical framework to definitively map what happens in the brain during an NDE, let alone why it manifests the way it does. The only territory available to us — for now — is reasoned speculation. Educated hypotheses. Threads worth pulling.

And perhaps that is fitting. The experience itself exists at the edge of what language and science can reach.
