OpenStack Neutron Ports
Networking in OpenStack can be realized through various mechanism drivers such us linux bridges, OVS and OVN. The mechanism drivers dictate how the logical networks are translated into the physical infrastructure.
In this article, we describe the ports used in Neutron setup with ML2/OVN. The design consists of three controller nodes hosting neutron-server and ML2/OVN, three OVN DB servers hosting OVN northd and ovs-dbserver (OVN northbound and southbound databases) and multiple compute nodes hosting OVN controller, OVS vswitchd, ovs-dbserver (conf.db) and OVN metadata agents. High availability in the northbound and southbound databases is realized through Raft.
The table below shows the ports needed for this purpose.
In the next article, we will cover how to install and configure ovn-central in the OVN DB servers.
