How I solved my IBS, bloating, cravings, sleep etc.

The cheeseburger. My whole life this has always been favorite food.
I used to eat 5 meals a day. I had poor sleep, but food would give me energy. Because I was used to eating frequently I had to eat exactly 2 hours before sleeping. If I ate any closer to bed time I’d be too full to sleep. If I ate any earlier I’d get hungry while trying to fall asleep, so I’d get up and eat then be awake an extra 2 hours.
I felt bloated a lot. I had frequent irregular heartbeats. Sometimes I’d wake up in the night with my heart pounding for no reason. I would get a runny nose when eating anything. I had frequent stomach pains. I kept wanting to eat when already full.
I thought my diet was healthy. It was mostly oatmeal (only lightly sweetened with honey), rice, chicken, bananas, pasta, yogurt, the healthy cereal with low sugar and high fiber, a salad based on spinach and lettuce, with small snacks of pretzels and fancy chips with no seed oils. Almost all of it was organic. I thought the one bad thing I was doing was I’d get a fast-food hamburger combo once a week and eat it all. (Spoiler alert: the hamburger was actually fine.)
I thought that cutting carbs was just a hack that people did to quickly drop a lot of weight. I’ve always been skinny so I didn’t consider it. After going to a few doctors for my stomach problems, they said I should try cutting out most foods then reintroduce a food one at a time to find out which foods are causing me problems.
I found out online that some people go carnivore to do this. If you only eat meat for a few days you’ll feel satisfied enough while you can eliminate almost everything that could be causing problems. Then add back in one food at a time. This is where everything changed.
As soon as I cut the carbs, half of my problems went away. No stomach problems, no heartbeat problems, and more energy. I still wanted to eat when already full, and wanted to snack all the time. I solved that by skipping breakfast. It was hard for a few days, then I got used to it. My bloating went away and I didn’t need to eat all the time. I could eat dinner 4 hours before bed, and I’d brush my teeth right after dinner to show that I’m totally done eating for the day.
My diet ended up as: Lamb, eggs, sauerkraut, stone fruit, a few pine nuts and walnuts. And a daily burger bowl salad of arugula, onion, corn, tomato, pickles, avocado, cheese, bell pepper, olive oil, and lots of hamburger. Only if I did a big workout should I eat any oatmeal or rice. The irony is that the fast food hamburger I’d get once a week, that one bad thing is actually totally fine for me. I just skip the fries now.
I’m convinced that the healthiest thing a human can eat is high-fat grass-fed beef or lamb. And there are no downsides. Fat is the most important thing to eat. An animal designed to graze on grass will make the healthiest fat possible. If grass-finished the fat won’t be too chewy and you should definitely eat all the fat on your steak.
Your daily routine should not involve purposefully adding carbs to your meals. You get plenty of carbs on accident. The slice of cake at a birthday party. Your kid’s unfinished oatmeal that will get tossed if you don’t eat it. The free pastry day at school. The big bucket of leftover Halloween candy. The free breadsticks at the restaurant. You get too many carbs without even buying any at the grocery store. Because of this, you should try to reduce carbs every day for the rest of your life regardless of your weight. Some carbs can be healthy on their own if you weren’t already eating all those random free carbs and sweets, but you are, so adding in a healthy carb will do more harm than good. You don’t need to add the organic Japanese sweet potato. The are essential fats, but there are no essential carbs.
Oh and the other thing I did was put a little trampoline next to my desk, so I get up and jump frequently. I didn’t before because I’d usually have eaten too recently to want to jump. Now I only eat 2 meals a day.
