Is Wealthy Affiliate Any Good? Thoughts From Long Time Member

I’ve been a Wealthy Affiliate member for over four years now. Through so much time using their platform, I’ve seen all the good and bad Wealthy Affiliate can offer, and I decided to share my thoughts with you.

I’ll be as objective as possible, especially because I also finished some other blogging courses, such as Project24 and Authority Hacker. So, I think that I’m fully capable of providing you with real, objective, and honest information about Wealthy Affiliate.

I won’t bother you with unimportant things, so let’s go with the most important things you’ll get if you join Wealthy Affiliate, so you know what to expect.

Since Wealthy Affiliate has a free version as well, let me show you what you can expect from the free version of Wealthy Affiliate:

• Free access to 1st training, where you can learn how to start and run a WordPress blog.
• Free web hosting on .siterubix.com domain.

Of course, a free account is only to get you familiar with the whole platform so you can know what to expect. While there are some other things that you’ll also get, such as a few keyword research searches, only the training and free hosting are really important.

What You Get as a Paid Member:

• Full access to full training on how to start a blog, how to research keywords, page speed optimization, and how to write different types of content (list posts, reviews, informational posts, etc.).
• Different courses (created by successful members) on various topics are regularly created and follow the latest Google trends.
• A keyword research tool called Jaaxy also includes keyword tracking.
• Free web hosting for three websites, including page speed optimization, spam prevention, and free SSL certificate.
• Quick site support and access to directly message all users on the platform, including the owner, Kyle.

What do I Like at Wealthy Affiliate?

Here are the most important things I appreciate the most about the Wealthy Affiliate platform:

• The training is step-by-step (literally). Even the tiniest steps are shown through courses, which is crucial if you’re a complete beginner. That’s not the case with most other blogging courses, where they assume that you already know WordPress basics.
• Domain and hosting installation is extremely quick. You can set up the domain name and web hosting with WordPress in less than a minute, and you don’t have to do anything. Everything is just a 1-click installation.
• Free SSL Certificate, Site Speed Optimization, and Site Protection are included with hosting. I’ve used a few hosting companies in the past, and while most of them provided basic SSL certificates, none of them provided good enough spam protection or site speed optimization. At Wealthy Affiliate, they do a decent job (even though speed optimization could be a bit better).
• There are many successful people at Wealthy Affiliate. I like that there are many successful people at Wealthy Affilite who regularly share their tips, tricks, and advice and even complete courses on various instances of blogging and SEO.
• They’re improving the platform all the time.
• You can host up to three websites on your own domain, which is included in the price. If you pay annually like me, that’s alone (without training) worth the money.

Things That I Don’t Like about Wealthy Affiliate

Now, here are some things that I’m not very happy about:

• There are too many people who “try to make money” but do nothing except that they write their personal stories on the platform. That may negatively affect user experience and navigation on the website. I don’t even look at those, I just use what I need.
• Web hosting has its limitations because of security reasons. While I understand their position, they sometimes make weird decisions and don’t allow you to install some WordPress plugins. For instance, I had to remove WP Rocket from my websites because it’s not compatible with Wealthy Affiliate managed WordPress hosting. Wealthy Affiliate also doesn’t support Ezoic because of the same security reasons.
• Some of the training is completely obsolete. While they’re constantly updating the content, they don’t replace old content with new ones, meaning that you’ll have to pass the obsolete training first, and then you’ll see newer versions of it.
• When you finish all the basic lessons, it’s sometimes hard to navigate to the newest training and new courses because a lot of new content is being added all the time (at the same time, it’s a good thing, haha).

My Final Thoughts: Is Wealthy Affiliate Worth It?

I didn’t get too deep because I’m sure you’ve already read a few reviews and YouTube videos about Wealthy Affiliate; that’s why I concentrated on the things I like and don’t like.

Let me conclude everything. I think that Wealthy Affiliate is a great resource for complete beginners in the blogging world.

If you’re just starting out, and especially if you’re not some tech-savvy guy or lady, you might have a difficult time understanding all the basics about WordPress, SEO, etc. Wealthy Affiliate training is made for dummies, and you’ll learn everything pretty quickly.

Once you finish all the training, you can always leave Wealthy Affiliate and continue working on your own or finish some other more advanced training such as Authority Hacker, etc.
