Email address with Single Quote!
I never knew that you are allowed to have an email address with single quote character as part of your address!?
Our QA team notify that they found bug in the application we are maintaining.
The title of the Bug mentioned “Failed to register account with single quote”. I was like WHAT!?
No way! Who the hack having an email address with apostrophe or single quote character. And I don't believe you are allowed to create such address…
I know we are allowed to have . (dot) and — (hypthen) as part of the email address… but ‘ (quote)!? No way!
Prove me wrong…
I surf/dig/swim/whatever the internet and found this: Emails with an apostrophe in the address fail to deliver — Microsoft Q&A
Apparently according to the RFC 5322, the ruler, it’s allowed! But! Not all mail servers support it.
Dang!
Now I have a way to troll my Exchange Admin :D
