While reading your content, have you ever felt that the argument is solid, the structure is clean, yet it feels as if something is missing?
It has happened to me many times.
The Problem
Previously, I presented the logic too early without recognizing the challenge to the readers. Then I started learning to sharpen my writing.
I never addressed the emotional side of the readers who are struggling with the blank page. I also never realized the pain of a reader having to read hundreds and hundreds of words to find their solution.
Why It Happens
When you know a subject, it’s not unusual to write at length about it or jump to the solutions right away. However, sometimes you miss the target audience who are in a completely different situation from you.
Audience engages more with emotions and storytelling when they understand that with value.
Your Takeaway
- Start by addressing the feeling of the reader when they are struggling in their situation.
- Be empathetic towards them.
- Then you can explain why it happens
- End the content by giving simple and easy action items for them.
Bring storytelling into your content and see the magic happen.
