If agency is the engine of the universe, then the United States Constitution is the earthly scaffolding designed to protect it. It is not just a political document; it is a masterpiece of divine engineering intended to provide the optimal environment for the human soul to grow.

The Doctrine of Moral Agency

The primary purpose of an inspired constitution is to uphold moral agency. This is the principle that men and women must be accountable for their own choices at the day of judgment. For that accountability to be just, the individual must be free from bondage.

When a system of government crushes the individual’s voice or forces their conscience, it isn’t just a political failure; it’s a spiritual obstruction. The Constitution was designed to clear that obstruction, ensuring that “no one should be in bondage to another.”

Divine inspiration does not mean the document was delivered in a state of “static perfection.” Like the souls it protects, the Constitution was designed for progression. It was intended to grow and develop through inspired amendments, allowing it to meet the needs of an advancing world while maintaining its core resonance with the law of liberty.

It stands as a “common heritage” for the world — a model that has been emulated by nations across the globe. It proved that agency could be organized into a stable, self-correcting system.

The Responsibility of the Apprentice

If we believe in a “Dynasty of God,” then we recognize that the Constitution is part of our training. We have a duty to learn these principles, to defend them, and to seek out “wise and good” leaders who uphold them.

Upholding this scaffolding requires us to exercise our influence civilly and peacefully, seeking to unify rather than divide. It requires us to recognize that while no political party or candidate is perfect, we must use our individual inspiration to prioritize the principles that best protect the agency of all.

The Gist: The Constitution is the architecture of the “Master Workshop.” It provides the stability and freedom necessary for us to conduct our earthly experiments in creation and character. To defend it is to defend the very mechanism of eternal progression.
