VC Fracas: Unijos Returns After Students, Staff Fights

The University of Jos on Wednesday returned for academic exercises after a fracas that prompted the conclusion of the organization.

Fights by staff and students of the university ejected over the determination of another vice-chancellor of the university on Monday.

The nonconformists blockaded the doors of the perpetual site of the university keeping staff and students from getting to the grounds, including those composing the principal semester assessment.

Our reporter, who noticed the circumstance, nonetheless, found that the organization was resumed since Tuesday and regularity had returned.

Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (SSANU) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), University of Jos (UNIJOS), during the fights affirmed plans by the government through the National Universities Commission (NUC) to choose a chump as vice-chancellor against the well known wish of the university local area and different partners.

The associations were incensed by the activity of the NUC to side-line the fair treatment of choosing the VC by moving the inquiry group/choice board to Abuja, saying the move was against the demonstration that set up the university.

SSANU Secretary, UNIJOS Branch, Muplang Kangpe, affirmed that the choice cycle had been slanted to support a specific competitor.
