Who Knows?

Love is complex, so are we.

But when it comes to you, I’d love you in every way you struggled to understand.

Chances are I’ll step out of line, but who knows?

That line may be uncertain, but the thought of meeting you in the end still feels like the only certainty I ever allowed myself to believe in.

So maybe I did step out of it — because as long as there is you, I’d cross that line just to see if you’d ever meet me on the other side.

However, lately,

I’ve been thinking ‘bout my precarious future.

At some point, life starts to get unstable. And you are the only one I wanted to feel secured with — the only constant I kept choosing, even when everything between us kept changing.

But love and life could just confuse you — even on a random Monday.

Is it a crime to be unsure?

Because I don’t think I ever truly had life figured out. The only thing I’m sure of is to figure it out with you.

And maybe that’s where it circles back — love is complex, so are we.

Because somewhere between wanting each other and learning how to handle each other, love stopped being simple.

It revealed its true form of complexity — something I wish we could’ve conquer together.

Maybe we get married one day, but who knows?

Maybe with somebody else.

Maybe it should be us.

Maybe timing was the only thing we ever lost.

Or maybe we can meet again in a different version of ourselves, where timing finally stops working against us and starts working in our favor.

Think I’ll take that thought to the grave, but who knows?

Maybe I still catch myself hoping.

Maybe you do, too.

Maybe it was us, all along.

But despite all the “who knows” and the endless maybes, one thing’s for sure;

I know that I’ll love you always :)
