DANVILLE, Va. — River City Sports announced its 2025 All-Metro Softball Awards and Teams Monday morning.

Tunstall senior Colby Eastwood and Tunstall junior Kinslee Cassell were named Co-Players of the Year after having big years at the dish and in the circle for the Trojans.

Eastwood finished second in the region in RBI (29) and home runs (five) while leading the area in ERA (2.84) and finishing tied for first in total wins (10). She also placed fifth in the region in strikeouts with 69.

Cassell had a season to remember, leading the region in RBI (31) while finishing fourth in batting average (.432) and tied for third in home runs (three). She also finished second in the region in wins (nine), strikeouts (121) and ERA (2.90).

Chatham senior Cora Liggon earned Pitcher of the Year honors after a solid season that saw her play a huge role in the Cavaliers’ run to the Region 2C championship game and Class 2 state quarterfinals. Liggon led the region in strikeouts (147), finished tied with Eastwood in total wins (10) and third in ERA (2.93). She excelled at the dish as well, hitting .305 with three home runs and 15 RBI.

Tunstall freshman Harper Lovelace was named Rookie of the Year after a phenomenal season for the Trojans. Lovelace led the region in batting average (.539) while finishing tied for third in home runs with three.

Tunstall head coach Jenna Rudder earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the Trojans to a 20–4 record, including a perfect 11–0 mark in Piedmont District play, and the regular season and tournament district championships. Tunstall advanced to the Region 3D semifinals where it was edged out by Staunton River, 1–0.
