Summer update from one hot kitty

First, let me say, this has been one heck of a summer so far.

So many things are going on. Have a seat, grab a drink, and I’ll fill you in.

June started out with Mom and Dad doing a lot of work around the house. A few rooms got fixed up. Front porch painted. Mom kept saying, “Company’s coming”.

A come they did.

My Mom’s cousins from Scotland were coming to the States to watch the World Cup in Miami. Scotland was playing Brazil. They would be with us for a few days. Then fly to Miami for a couple of days, then back to our house to finish the trip.

It was interesting to have them here. They did talk a little differently, and I got a kick out of seeing them in their kilts. I made sure to spend time with them. I’m trying to be more social. While I’m not good at jumping on a lap of someone that’s not Mom or Dad, I do appreciate it when I stop over to meet someone when they give me a pet. I liked hanging out with them.

After their visit, I got back into my normal routine. It was not to last more than a day.

I noticed Mom and Dad closing all the windows and doors around lunch time, which is not normal on a summer day. What that normally means is that it is getting too hot outside and they are turning on the central air.

There is good and bad associated with the central air. The bad is I can’t go out to sit on the back porch, and I can’t sit in the window, which I love to do. The good thing is that it is comfortable in the house. Some days when the temperature is borderline, I tend to just lie around. Finding a cool spot is a priority. Sometimes I’ll go down to the basement, sometimes I’ll lie in the path of the fan that will be on. Not much cuddle time on those days. Too hot for that.

Luckily, it only lasted three days. Things are starting to get back to normal. We did have a bad storm come through, but thankfully not a lot of thunder. Not scared, but not a fan.

Last night I could hear fireworks going off in the neighborhood. Again, not scared but not a fan. As you can see, not a fan of loud things.

So that’s what’s going on with me.

You never know what adventure will come up next.

For tonight, I think I’ll be happy to hang with the folks. Get a little lap time. Watch a little TV (actually, they will watch TV, and I’ll nap).
