Overview

The Vargenrikke, a nation predominantly inhabited by Wolfmen and foxfolks, boasts a rich tapestry of cultural, spiritual, and societal facets. Renowned for their skilled cavalry, heavily armoured warriors, architectural finesse, and literary prowess, they hold a deep connection to nature and an open, welcoming disposition. Their belief in descending from the mighty Wolves of the North shapes their identity, cultivated through centuries of forming tribes that evolved into unified towns and cities today.

Symbolised by the cross on their flag, the Vargens revere nature’s balance, interconnectedness, and the Skölvargr (Wolf Spirits) representing strength and respect for nature. This emblem embodies their unity, values, and commitment to defending their way of life. Their spiritual practices revolve around honouring nature, instilling a profound respect for the environment and fostering conservation efforts. Art, music, poetry, and storytelling are integral to their culture, showcasing their wild spirit, warrior culture, and celebrating heroic feats.

Central to their traditions is Vargenian winemaking, particularly the prized Vargenian brandy, revered within their society and even utilized by native religious practitioners as a link to the Wolf Spirits. The Oakheart Guild was established by bards during Aldrik Vargengarde’s era, composing the famous anthem known as the “Voice of the Elders,” symbolizing their bond and commitment to harmonious existence with nature. The Vargens prioritize individual freedom and choice, not mandating specific religious beliefs but emphasizing the importance of respecting and nurturing the natural world, engrained in their society from a young age through the symbolism of the Skölvargr.

Society

Famed for their cavalry and heavily armored warriors, architecture and literary ingeniousness, open and accepting nature as well as high-quality brandy, medicinal herbs and Vargenian timber, the Vargenrikke is a nation mainly consisting of Wolfmen and foxfolks of all sizes and colors. The people of Vargenrikke believed that they were descended from the mighty Wolves of the West, ancient beasts that roam the lush forests and dominate the west with intense connections to the surrounding nature. Due to the harsh nature of their lands, having to survive through various predator beasts, the Descendants of the Wolves had to form tribes to bolster numbers and increase chances of survival, hence through this, tribesmen would form a deep relationship with each other. Uniquely, these tribes would also often close bonds with each other, though , some are sworn rivals and with that, as time passes, these tribes would unify and form greater villages, and towns before they would form City Fortresses today.

The Cross on Magna Vargheimar’s flag represents the symbol of their reverence for nature and the balance of life. The Vargens view the cross as a representation of the interconnectedness of all things, with the vertical line representing the connection between the divine and the earthly, and the horizontal line representing the balance between different aspects of nature. The Vargens also associate the cross with the Skölvargr, or the so called Wolf Spirits that serve as symbols of their connection to nature. They view the Skölvargr as the embodiment of strength, loyalty, and respect for nature, and see the cross as a way to honor these values. In addition, the Vargens use the cross as a symbol of unity and community, representing the bond between all members of their society. They see the cross as a way to remind themselves of their shared values and common goals and use it as a rallying point in times of crisis or celebration. The Crossed Swords represent the two legendary swords known in Vargen mythology known as Aldrik’s Fangblades wielded by Aldrik Vargengarde, the first High King of Magna Vargheimar and represents the Vargens’ martial prowess as well as their willingness to defend their values and way of life. The howling wolf’s head on the crescent moon is a symbol of the Skölvargr and serves as a reminder of the Vargens’ heritage and connection to nature and the importance of the balance between the natural world and spiritual connections to nature. Together, these symbols on the Magna Vargheimar’s flag represent their unique values and beliefs: reverence for nature, commitment to community and unity, and their strength and determination in defending their way of life.

Renowned for its open-minded and accepting nature, with the Wolfmen prioritizing individual freedom and choice. They do not restrict their people with any particular religious beliefs or mandate any organized form of worship. Instead, their core spiritual practices revolve around respecting and nurturing the nature that their ancestors had cultivated. The Vargens believe that they are part of nature, and are compelled to honor and protect it in return. This belief is deeply ingrained in their society and is instilled in the young through the personification of the so-called Skölvargr or “Wolf Spirits,” which serve as a powerful symbol of the connection between the Vargens and the natural world. There are several named spirits that the Vargens believe roam their forests, rivers, hills, and mountains, as such, with the belief of their nature to be the homes for these spirits, the Vargens have a profound respect for the environment and are known for their conservation efforts, always seeking to live in harmony with their surroundings.

In addition to this, the Vargens are also known for their love of art and music, which are deeply ingrained in their culture. They view art as a way of expressing their connection to nature and the world around them, and their music often reflects their wild and untamed nature, with many songs and ballads celebrating their warrior culture and tales of heroic feats. Poetry and storytelling are also highly valued in Magna Vargheimar, with many bards and minstrels travelling the land to share their tales with the people. The arts are seen as an important way of preserving and passing on their culture and are highly respected and appreciated in Vargen society. Most important however is the long-standing tradition of Vargenian winemaking. Vargenian brandy is considered the most prized heritage within Vargenian society, famous within and outside the region for its high quality, sometimes they too would be used by some native religion practitioners as a conduit to the Wolf Spirits. This liquor is also regarded in high places, especially among the royal families of the Drakvarics as well as the Karalyste

In order to show and pass on the Vargen’s firm belief in the Skölvargr aswell as their effort to live in harmony with their realm, the bards banded together during the times of Aldrik Vargengarde and formed the now famous Oakheart Guild and with them, they compose a popular song often sung first in solo by a lead singer singing the first stanza and as the chorus starts, from then on the entire audience would sing in unison to convey their sense of familial bond between vargens. They dub their song, the Voice of the Elders.

Voice of the Elders

The Elder roams in a realm of silence,

Of trees, of shrubs, of snow, of peace.

But harken now, to a tale of old,

Of how the Skölvargr’s story unfolds.

‘Neath skies of endless gray,

The Elders, found their way.

Led by the Eldest Claw, fierce and wise,

They journeyed forth, under ancient skies.

Chorus:

In tribes they wove, in forests wide,

Their songs of unity, side by side.

The Elder’s realm, alive and free,

The Elder’s legacy for eternity.

In the heart of the land, they made their stand,

By the Elder’s side, a sacred band.

With paws that marked the earth’s embrace,

Life awakened ‘neath the elder’s grace.

The Eldest Claw, with mystical art,

Breathed life anew, a wondrous start.

From barren soil to forests green,

A world of grace, yet unseen.

As rivers danced and mountains rose,

The Elders prospered, each story flows.

In tribes they formed, like kin they stood,

The Elders guide, their spirithood.

Songs were sung of this noble feat,

Of Elder hearts, with courage replete.

They tamed the wild, built home and kin,

Under the Elder’s watchful grin.

Beneath the sky’s embrace they stand,

The Elder’s might across the land.

Guided by the Eldest Claw’s embrace,

They brought life’s light, a sacred grace.

Chorus:

In tribes they wove, in forests wide,

Their songs of unity, side by side.

The Elder’s realm, alive and free,

Elder’s legacy for eternity.

So raise your voices, let songs take flight,

Through halls of time, in day and night.

The Elder roams in a realm of peace,

As the Elder’s legacy shall never cease.

For in their bonds, the land restored,

The Elder’s realm, its treasures poured.

Of trees, of shrubs, of snow, of life,

A saga of Skölvargr, free from strife.

Closing:

In tribes they wove, in forests wide,

Their songs of unity, side by side.

With hearts entwined, we’ll journey on,

Guided by the Elder’s light, until dawn.

So let our voice rise and soar!

So raise your voices, let them ring!

A tale of unity, forever more,

The Elder’s story, let it sing!

The Elder’s realm, forever free,

A gift of peace, for you and me.

In forests wide and skies above,

We’ll sing the saga of our love.

Another aspect of Vargenian traditions which are inclined more towards the military of Magna Vargheimar is the fact that Vargenians were nomadic tribes, hence they relied heavily on their rides, most commonly are horses but in some instances, there are a few unique rides the Vargenians employed in their army, these come in form of Giant Wolves or as what is known for the Vargens as the Storvargrs, a feral gift of the Skölvargrs for the Vargenians to tame.

A unique tradition within Vargen society lies within their burial tradition. Vargens firmly belief that they exist materially in a sense that they are childrens, their parents are the Wild Spirits (Skölvargr) and the Northern forests are their homes. Hence, with this belief in mind, when a Vargen passes, regardless of their positions in life no matter whether they were a Royal, soldiers, peasants or even beggars, the community will take a passed away Vargen or anyone for that matter, lay them in a coffin before the community escorts the deceased into the nearest forest. There, a druid will lead the burial procession by lowering the coffin into the earth then burying it after the Druid planted an Oak seed in the hopes that the deceased would have their own tree as a home aswell as hoping that said tree would be a catalyst to more life (e.g nests for birds, barks for lichens to grow on, shades for mushrooms to grow which would eventually feed Vargens themselves).

An old and venerable order which stands as the shield, the sword and the bastion of Vargen belief and valour. The Order takes root and zealously prideful of their ancient soil, where this sacred brotherhood embodies the very essence of Vargen values consisting of unwavering loyalty, martial prowess, and spiritualistic zeal to the Vargen ways of life, reminiscent of the legendary Vargen Warriors of old.

As the twilight sun casts its golden hue upon the towering citadels and dense forests, the resounding echoes of solemn vows and clashing blades reverberate within the halls of Vardrangr castles. They are the Champions of all Vargen, devoted guardians whose souls are intertwined with the very heart of the Skölvargr, revered Wolf Spirits who watch over the realm and guiding their successors in every step of the way. The Knights of Vardrangr are sworn defenders of the Vargen ways. Clad in armour adorned with Vargen insignias and emblazoned with symbols of spiritual reverence, each of these knights stand as paragons of honour, integrity, and unwavering allegiance to the ancient beliefs that bind the empire together.

  • Vardingr

The Vardingr, or more commonly regarded as the Grand Alpha, is a highly respected rank of Vargen society just below the High King. A figure whose body bears scars of war, where his might and endurance were put to test in the most brutal of combat, where his form must already be adorned with scars of blades, arrows and his bone broken and healed from the strikes of clubs, a symbol of valour for the mightiest who had survived death and emerged as the victor. For one to be hailed as a Vardingr is to embody the very essence of courage, fortitude, and unwavering determination. It signifies not just martial prowess but a deep-seated sense of duty, an indomitable spirit that perseveres in the face of insurmountable odds. The title of a Vardingr is not a simple rank, as one must prove themselves worthy of the merits of a handful of Vargen’s best warriors in mind and body. A Vardingr must uphold his unwavering loyalty and act as the High King’s blades poised for war. Their armour, from a helmet forged to fit the size of their head perfectly in the shape that of a wolf’s head, a formidable piece of artistry, which bears the silhouette of a wolf’s head, its eyes etched with a piercing gaze that mirrors the unwavering resolve of the Vargen warrior within. Crafted not just for protection but as a symbol of dominance and authority, the helm, nicknamed the Varghjalmar bestows upon the Vardingr an aura of regal supremacy. On his shoulder, hangs the Vargblatt mantle of majestic sapphire blue, cascading over his powerful shoulders, serves as a cloak of honour and a badge of distinction. This great mantle, more than just a piece of regalia, drapes around the Vardingr’s frame, bearing the sigil of the revered Vargengarde Imperial Family. Embellished with ancient symbols of lineage and heritage, it narrates tales of valor and triumph that resonate throughout the corridors of history.

  • Vargenskard Ritual

The Vardingr is a rank that can only be bestowed onto one, outstanding warrior amongst the legions of Vargen warriors, as such, the Vargblatt mantle, an age old relic since the times of Aldrik Vargengarde can only be made once and bestowed throughout the successions from one Vargen to the other, chosen by the High King of the Magna Vargsheimar.

During this succession, a majestic event takes place where the old Vardingr calls upon the Order to assemble on the Great Halls of Valour. A Ritual revered as the Vargenskard, or the Ascencion of Wolves where a merit-proven Vargen warrior ascends to the status of a Vardingr. Prior to the ceremony, an assembly of esteemed elders, High King’s advisors, and renowned warriors gather within the Great Hall of Valor, adorned with ancient banners and relics of the Vargen heritage.

  • Vow of the Vardingr

— -

“On Shieldwalls and Shield-rich,

In thought and in depth,

In Wolf Blue and for the Wolves,

I vow to safeguard the Magna Vargheimar in strife and in honour,

To shield my wolf-kin, brothers, and sisters, and steer the shields under the realm,

Under the will of the Vargengarde, with their might and honour,

Under the vigilant and wise gaze of the Skolvargr, I vow without end,

With Hrognaldr, and with their Valour,

With Lygnaldr, and with their Compassion,

With Styrnaldr, and with their Fortitude,

With Vitnaldr, and with their Wisdom,

With Hodnaldr, and with their Loyalty,

In the realm of my ravensongs,

I shall ascend as a Vardingr, brothers, and sisters, praise that title without end.

With Vridnaldr, and their Peace,

For the Vargheimar, and my Vargen-kin,

With Hugnaldr, and their courage

I pledge my will, with strength, and valor,

In endless determination and steadfastness until the end.”

Below the Vardingr, stands the Grifsen. A legion of Vargen who had proven their merit in combat, where they shine as strategic paragons over the Knighthood of Vardrangr. The Grifsen can be said as the men and women in charge of the Knighthood’s operation and enforcement of the Vardingr’s will as well as the Order’s values amongst their Varkrigr Knights.

Under the guidance of their Wolf Lords, the Vardrangr extend their reach, weaving their influence across the domains and territories. These esteemed leaders guide the Wolf Breakers, the Wolf Warriors, and the Wolf Guards — each embodying a facet of the order’s indomitable spirit.

The Vardrangr Knights, initiated as Forest Wolves and honed through trials of fire and spirit, emerge as the epitome of martial skill, spiritual fortitude, and unwavering resolve. They navigate the wilds as Pathfinders, preserving lore as Oak Wolves, defending sacred grounds as Hill Wolves, and communicating with the swift cunning of Raven Wolves.

Within the sanctuaries of Vardrangr, ancient tomes whisper tales of valor and sacrifice, honoring the legacy of those who laid the foundation for this noble brotherhood. The walls bear witness to centuries of unyielding dedication, chronicling the victories, sacrifices, and unwavering spirit of these noble defenders.

The Knighthood of Vardrangr, an indomitable force shaped by the howls of the wilderness and the echoes of history, stands resolute against the tides of time. They are the guardians of Vargen belief, the sentinels of Magna Vargheimar’s soul, and the embodiment of the eternal bond between the Wolf and the Empire.

Vargengardian Society

Vargenreach, the famed Capital City Fortress located on the coasts of Vargengarde imperial region. A High King falls in charge as the head of state of the various lords and ladies who rule over their own respective lands in form of Houses.

House Vargengarde

The de facto leader of the empire ruling from within the now heavily fortified fortress capital of Vargenreach, more so a Fortified Citadel than a capital. Founded shortly after the War of Unification was declared by High King Aldrik Vargengarde, the House produced many bloodlines and successor Luminaries of which propelled the Empire to where it is today, capable of even standing up to both the Karalyste aswell as the Drakvarics. As of now, Brynjar Vargengarde holds the title of High King

Taking up the responsibility in commanding an empire wide rule, the House held immense power and tasks on the economy aswell as politic. Since the empire is made up of several independent clans and houses, the Vargengarde possesses the most numerous aswell as skilled diplomat within the country, responsible in keeping the empire’s unity through maintaining relations and making sure each regions have sufficient funding and security for a prosperous development aswell as envoys to foreign powers in order to maintain a steady relationship in trade, diplomacy and military in accordance to the Vargen doctrine of defense and outward harmony. Whilst most of the house bloodline remains well known and venerable in Vargen legends, the house has notably the least amount of military commanders albeit most are in the highest of positions such as the Minister of War, though the burden of warfare still rests on the High King.

House Valerian

Hailing from the rugged mountain regions of Vargengarde, the Valerians had adapted themselves into the vicious albeit mystical environment of the Northern Peaks, thus giving birth to a distinct variant of the same culture. Valerian tongue, culture and beliefs may seem slightly different from their everyday Vargen counterpart, shaped by their times in the highlands, but intrinsically they share the exact same values.

Within the center of Valerian beliefs lies the so called Sylvanimus, the Valerianic version of the Skölvargr. A slight noticeable difference in this belief is that instead of living in accordance to nature and maintaining harmony with the Forests, the Valerian believed in their Sylvanic Path that they are the chosen sons of the Sylvanimus forest spirits to be the true custodian of all Vargens. Interestingly aswell, the Valerians has the highest amount of Sylvargs in their society, integrated in every layer of the local government, army and society.

Founded by the revered and venerated Dame Servia Valeriana, the House stands as a military bastion of the empire. Despite each houses having their own, sizable armies, the finest of warriors and soldiers are trained rigorously in the Valerianic arts of heavy cavalry, storvargr/magnicanis husbandry and heavily armored soldiers who would soon serve under either the command of a Vargengardian Drengr or Valerian Drengr, which are the highest and most honored leadership title just below the High King and the Ministry.

As such, House Valerian and their capital Castra Valeria has become the very definition of the Bastion of Unity. Under no circumstance the Valerian sees any vargens or sylvargs lesser than the other, their knighthood and chivalry codes tightly enforced in their ranks and held high in their societies which often seeps and integrate into other vargen cultures. Valerian soldiers keeping a vigilant watch over the borders and the Drengr inspires both security and unity. However, due to the Valerianic beliefs in military supremacy, the House Valerian is most often coercive and direct, exhibiting a rather poor diplomatic abilities in contrast with the Tribes of Gaia or the Vargengarde, while their military doctrine rivals the House Winterfang’s due to the Winterfang acceptance of dark, blood and shadow magic, seen as abhorrent through the perspective of the Sylvanimus.

Vargen Tribes of Gaia

Legend of the Tribes of Gaia Long ago, a devastating conflict swept across the lands, leaving in its wake countless parentless children amidst the ravages of war. The ravages of war were indiscriminate, robbing these innocent souls of their families, their homes, and the comforting embrace of parental love. Cast adrift amidst the debris of their shattered lives, the children, orphaned and bereft of guidance, wandered aimlessly through the desolation wrought by the horrors of battle. Their joyful laughter was now but a distant memory, replaced by the haunting silence of anguish and the eerie whispers of desolation. These Vargenkin children, orphaned and lost, stripped of their innocence and driven by a primal instinct for survival, forged an unspoken pact of unity. With hearts heavy with grief and eyes hollow with sorrow, they clung to each other, seeking solace and understanding amidst the chaos that had consumed their world. In their collective desolation, they moved as one, their steps echoing a symphony of loss, yearning, and a shared hope for a respite from the ceaseless torment of war.

In their desperate quest for solace amidst the wreckage of their shattered lives, bound by a collective anguish that echoed through their every step, these children trudged through the desolation of their once-vibrant homes. With hearts heavy and minds burdened by the atrocities witnessed amongst their comrades, they sought refuge, only to confront the haunting reality of utter desolation. Their search, fueled by a haunting desperation, led them to grim realizations — no solace remained to be found, no vestige of comfort or hope lingered. Instead, they were greeted by the ghastly tableau of blazing towers and homes, lifeless bodies of their beloved parents, guardians, protectors strewn amidst the ruins. The harrowing sight seared into their young minds, etching a grotesque portrait of despair and irrevocable loss.

With tears streaming down their dirt-streaked faces and hearts heavy with unbearable sorrow, the children fled, fleeing towards the forest. Aimless, vulnerable, and at the mercy of nature’s indifference, they stumbled through the tangled underbrush, their cries a chorus of wretched agony, beseeching the heavens for respite from the unrelenting torment. Each anguished plea echoed through the silent woods, full of grief and shattered innocence, desperately seeking restoration of the purity so mercilessly ripped from their grasp. As nature’s indifferent grandeur, where silence often reigns supreme, the Great Mother Gaia, the venerable embodiment of nature’s compassionate embrace, cast her gaze upon these bereaved children. Amidst the desolation that enveloped their world, her empathetic heart weighed heavy with their sorrow. With a divine empathy that transcended the realm of mortals, Gaia observed the tender souls amidst the sorrowful tableau of a world torn asunder. Their innocent countenances bore the scars of a poignant longing — a yearning for respite from the ceaseless storms of chaos, a desire for the tranquil joys of childhood’s laughter amidst the ruins.

The Children seek not of the grandeur of riches or the might of the knights, they do not care for such things. The Children however, laments for one thing, one universal anguish in their cries, they lament for the return of their parents and their love. Their hearts’ yearn for the warmth of a mother’s embrace, for the guidance of a father’s wisdom, echoed ceaselessly through the depths of their despair.

But even the divinity of the Great Mother Gaia, with her profound benevolence and cosmic power, was unable to rewrite the cruel decree of destiny. She, too, was bound by the immutable laws that govern life and death. The irrevocable loss, etched into the children’s memories, tormented them with visions of a once-vibrant village now plunged into the stark silence of death. Their frozen gazes, holding their beloved siblings in trembling hands, mirrored the devastating tragedy that had stolen their innocence. The Great Mother wept tears of ethereal essence, her divine heart shattered by the harrowing innocence robbed from these orphaned souls. Despite her cosmic might, she grappled with a profound helplessness, unable to mend the irreparable breach in their shattered childhood.

Though, the Great Mother seek not to abandon the orphaned children. Her divine motherhood struck at an instant when she called forth her daughter, Heimsdottir, the Daughter of the World. With a mother’s tender guidance, the Great Mother entrusted Heimsdottir with a sacred purpose — to cradle the shattered spirits of the orphaned children, to nurture their fractured souls, and to guide them along the path to healing and solace. With a divine mandate bestowed upon her by the Great Mother herself, Heimsdottir embarked on a quest to restore hope and grace to the hearts of the bereaved children.

Gaia’s tear dropped upon an expanse of land, nestled amidst the vibrant embrace of an ancient forest, cradled between the towering sentinels of two majestic mountains. Heimsdottir, with a heart heavy with sorrow for the ordeals endured by the orphaned children, proclaimed this uncharted territory as a sacred haven — a Sanctuary blessed by her divine touch. At the heart of this sanctified realm lay a glistening expanse of water, a serene lake named the Tear of Gaia. Its tranquil waters mirrored the skies above, reflecting the sorrow and compassion woven into the very fabric of the universe. The lake stood as a testament to the Great Mother’s profound grief — a silent witness to the tears shed for the innocence stolen from the children. With the haven set, Heimsdottir sculpted an eternal sanctuary, a haven where nature’s embrace offered solace and tranquility to the shattered souls seeking refuge. Guided by the whispers of the wind and the chants of the forests, Heimsdottir shaped a land where time flowed gently and the spirits of nature danced in unison. Fruits, plump and succulent, adorned the branches, a cornucopia of nature’s bounty gifted for the delight of the children. Ripe berries, golden apples, and fragrant citrus fruits hung in abundance, perpetually ripe for the picking, offering sustenance and sweetness to those who wandered through the verdant forests.

Within this realm, the children found themselves enveloped in a radiant haven, a sanctuary untouched by strife or anguish. Where the forests sang enchanting melodies, the flowers whispered tales of ancient wisdom, and the rivers flowed with serenity, all nurturing an eternal spring of joy. Heimsdottir, the Guardian Mother of the Wild and Free, was said to guide these children and watched with her gentle presence a beacon of solace and protection. As the Daughter of the World, she ensured the land remained a bastion of peace, safeguarded by her unwavering devotion to nature’s balance.

Then, Heimsdottir herself, in a manifestation of ethereal grace, revealed herself to the orphaned children. A radiant beacon of maternal warmth, she embraced them with tenderness, becoming a nurturing figure — a mother to the first generation of the Gaia Tribes. Under Heimsdottir’s ethereal guidance, the orphaned children thrived. Her presence became an anchor of stability, nurturing their growth and fostering a legacy of harmony and reverence for nature. She imparted wisdom and teachings, guiding them through their formative years with unwavering love and boundless compassion. The Daughter of the World nurtured the orphaned children without bounds, nurturing each orphaned children numbering in the thousands with warmth, understanding and compassion.

Heimsdottir knew, the indelible scars scorched upon their tender hearts, the irreplaceable memories of laughter with their mothers and fathers, the warmth of their embraces, and the love that once cradled their youthful spirits, could never be rewritten. Their yearning for their lost parents, forever burned into their souls, could never be erased. She acknowledged the depth of their grief that coursed through their veins and the ache that lingered in the echoes of their laughter. The gaze of Heimsdottir, though radiant with cosmic wisdom, held an understanding beyond the boundaries of mortal comprehension. In her divine grace, she seeks not to erase their memories or rewrite the narratives etched into their beings. Instead, she embraced their anguish with boundless compassion, recognizing that healing could only come through acceptance and the gentle nurturing of their fractured spirits.

Thus, in the tender embrace of her presence, she guides the children to a comforting presence that enveloped them in the Sanctuary, a haven where their pain was acknowledged and their innocence revered. She became their guiding light, a mother who held their sorrow close to her luminous heart, a beacon of compassion illuminating the path toward healing and restoration. Throughout their childhood, tales of Heimsdottir were told where Heimsdottir fragmented her being into thousands of ethereal reflections where each fragment was a radiant embodiment of her grace, a guiding light that remained tethered to the souls of the orphaned children, offering solace and wisdom whenever needed.

Every child held within their heart an intimate connection to one of these echoes, a connection forged by the delicate threads of cosmic kinship. In moments of solitude or despair, they need only reach out with their hearts, and the ethereal reflection of Heimsdottir would materialize. Divine reflections manifesting thoruhgout the forests and meadows, dwelling within the rustling leaves and whispered breezes, woven into the fabric of the Gaia Tribes’ existence. They became ethereal companions, offering a presence in times of joy, solace during moments of sorrow, and as their mentors, she offers guidance through the labyrinth of life’s trials, teaching them the values of life, the consequences of hatred, the importance of unity, all that the children have experienced and Heimsdottir seek to guide the children to the path of purity. Through this divine intervention, Heimsdottir ensured that no child would ever feel alone or abandoned, she gently guides each child through the labyrinth of their sorrow. Her presence unveiled the magnitude of loss, nurturing a profound understanding that loss, though poignant, was not the end. Through their shared grief, she fostered an empathy that bound them together, nurturing a kinship that transcended the boundaries of mere friendships.

Under her ethereal guidance, the children learned to lean on one another, drawing strength from their shared experiences. They found solace in the shared sorrow of their siblings and friends, recognizing that in their unity lay the seeds of a new family — a bond forged in the crucible of their collective anguish, a bond that would endure the test of time. Heimsdottir’s echoes whispered cosmic truths, teaching the children that healing wasn’t about forgetting their past but embracing it with a heart softened by empathy. They learned to cherish their memories of lost loved ones while nurturing the familial ties that blossomed among them.

In recognizing the depth of their pain and acknowledging the shared struggles, the children forged an unbreakable bond, a tribe of their own — a testament to their resilience and a tribute to the enduring love they held for one another. Heimsdottir’s teachings unveiled the eternal nature of this newfound family — a bond crafted from shared sorrow but fortified by unwavering love, protection, and nurturing.

As time unfurled its tender embrace, Heimsdottir, in her eternal vigilance, enveloped each child with the tender embrace of her ethereal manifestations, walking alongside them through life’s myriad experiences. With the passage of days and nights, the children learned profound lessons under her guidance — lessons of pain, loss, and the transcendence of acceptance. Through her teachings, they came to perceive the multifaceted essence of existence, understanding that life’s tapestry weaves threads of both profound pain and breathtaking beauty. Heimsdottir ensured that the fledgling generation of the Tribe grasped the sanctity of life, emphasising the intrinsic value of every living being, regardless of stature. When the tribesmen set out to hunt, her gentle whispers urged them to bestow upon their prey a merciful passage, never to glorify the act of hunting but instead to honour the cycle of life, sharing their bounty with humility and reverence.

As the children matured, reaching the threshold of adulthood, Heimsdottir sensed that her guidance had fulfilled its purpose for the moment. Gathering her cherished children beneath the sacred boughs of the forest, she bid a bittersweet farewell. Her ethereal presence assured them that she and the Great Mother Gaia would forever watch over them, in life and in death, guiding their steps through the intricate dance of existence.

With a promise etched into their souls, Heimsdottir assured each child that they were never alone, that in moments of uncertainty or sorrow, her ethereal echoes would stand as guardians, guiding lights along the paths they chose to tread. She bestowed upon them the understanding that in the embrace of their final breaths, she and the Great Mother Gaia would await them, welcoming them with open arms to ascend to their realm, forever united in a symphony of cosmic unity and eternal love.

Amidst the pristine, northern expanse of the Magna Vargheimar, where the stark, snow-capped peaks stand in solemnity against the azure skies, lies the territory of a tribe unlike any other. Here, nested within the embrace of dense, whispering pine forests, a community of Vargens thrives, fostering traditions and beliefs that diverge markedly from the prevailing ethos of the realm.

The local Vargen tribes called themselves as the Gaia Tribes, an enclave distinct from the grandeur of the other Vargheimar houses, the very air hums with an aura of mystique and reverence for nature. The boundaries of this domain are marked not by castles or fortified walls, but by the silent sentinel of the towering mountains and the whispering groves. The tribe’s existence, secluded and serene, owes its essence to a deeply rooted philosophy that venerates the sanctity of the natural world. Here, the very nature they live in are their homes instead of houses and taverns, here, the very mountains and hills, valleys, rivers and lakes are their bastion.

Within this vast sanctuary, the Gaia Tribespeople or more commonly known as the Gaia Vargens, revere the land as a living, breathing soul, an embodiment of divinity itself. Their customs, steeped in ancient wisdom, revolve around a sacred unspoken but lively covenant with nature, acknowledging the interconnectedness of all living beings. They perceive the forests as repositories of wisdom, the mountains as their stoic guardians, and the rivers as flowing veins of life itself. For them, every leaf that rustles in the breeze, every brook that gurgles, and every creature that flits through the underbrush is a manifestation of the eternal and the ethereal

Thus, the Gaia Tribes held a legend, which unlike what most Vargens would believe in, the Gaia Vargens belief in the highest regard as the Great Mother, the highest form of motherhood that sees no difference in age, race, sins, pain or love. In a realm where many regions follow martial pursuits, House Heimsdottir diverges from the militaristic norm. Their society, despite being completely unrelated to the Drakvarics, are akin to the Drakvaric Society, where they embraced a matriarchal structure.

Women take the lead in positions of importance, where their innate instincts and intuition, drives their innate connection to the land’s mystic energies. This connection has shaped the region’s unique approach to defence. Foregoing traditional military might, House Heimsdottir’s defensive forces are composed of formidable women archers, each a skilled huntress adept at stalking their prey. Employing ingenious tactics, the archers lure adversaries deep into the heart of their enchanted forests, isolating and overwhelming them with a deadly combination of stealth and archery. Their forest-borne strategies mirror their unwavering harmony with nature and demonstrate that wisdom can often surpass brute force. Often, the dense forests of the Gaia Tribes are in on themselves, alive and living in conjunction with its inhabitants who hold the entire region as their sacred birthplace.

Amidst the whispered murmurs of ancient trees and the gentle lullabies carried by the wind, there exists a song, nameless yet ever-present in the hearts of the tribespeople. Gathered in communion, their voices rise in celestial unison, painting the air with mystical melodies that weave through the forest, each lyric a tribute to the vibrant pulse of life and the boundless majesty of nature. The song becomes a spiritual bridge between the earthly realm and the ethereal domain, an ode to the sacred covenant between the Gaia tribes and the nurturing embrace of the Great Mother they personified as Heimsdottir, the Daughter of the Realm whereas nature itself is so divine, the Gaia Vargens realised that they couldn’t understand it.

The territory of the Gaia tribes are rich with herbal treasures found nowhere else, as if destined to nurture generations of Gaia healers, alchemists, and druids who draw strength from the very land they inhabit. They pay homage through the intricate forest gifts they craft, meticulously eliminating poisonous plants and cultivating some of the empire’s most renowned herbal remedies.

Within the Gaia Vargens’ deeply entrenched paganistic faith in the Great Mother, a profound doctrine of pacifism and unreserved openness has taken root. An ethos, which had been woven deep into the very strands of their existence, a testament to their reverence for the sanctity of life and their unwavering devotion to the natural world. Embracing the tenets of their ancient beliefs, the Gaia Vargens have forged a way of life that curses conflict and instead embraces harmony. Their hearts resonate with the rhythm of the earth, attuned to the gentle whispers of the forests and the tranquil embrace of the flowing rivers. It is their reverence for the Great Mother, the embodiment of all life and creation, manifests in a profound commitment to non-violence. The Gaia Vargens, staunch adherents of peace, strive to resolve disputes through dialogue, seeking reconciliation rather than confrontation. They perceive the interconnectedness of all beings, viewing each life as a cherished aspect of the intricate web of existence.

Their openness, an extension of their pacifist creed, forms the foundations of their interactions with outsiders. Welcoming travellers and visitors with warmth and hospitality, the Gaia Vargens open their hearts and homes to those who seek solace within the embrace of the natural world. Their villages, nestled amidst the verdant tapestry of the forests, serve as sanctuaries where individuals from diverse backgrounds converge to share in the bounties of nature and forge bonds of camaraderie.

While some admire the Gaia Vargens’ commitment to peace and openness as a noble endeavour, others perceive it as an outlier, diverging sharply from the established norms of Vargen society. For some, the Gaia Vargens’ unwavering dedication to openness is met with scepticism and mild disapproval. These dissenting voices, rooted in differing cultural norms and ideologies, regard the Gaia Vargens’ approach as peculiar and perhaps impractical. Accustomed to a world shaped by power dynamics and calculated strategies, they find it challenging to comprehend an existence where openness reigns supreme over guardedness. House Valerians, as an example, were driven by a deeply entrenched militaristic ethos, and perceive the Gaia Vargens’ beliefs as antithetical to their own principles. Revering strength, valour, as well as martial prowess, caused the Valerians to find themselves at odds with the Gaia Vargens’ pacifistic inclinations. Their worldview, shaped by the pursuit of martial excellence and the relentless pursuit of victory, clashes with the tranquil and open-hearted demeanour of the Gaia Vargens.

Under the rule of Aldrik Vargengarde, the inaugural sovereign of the Magna Vargheimar, a scion of the Imperial House of Vargengarde, a historic decree reverberated across the expanse of the realm. With his authority, the Sovereign proclaimed the decree which designated the territories inhabited by the Gaia Vargens as sacred sanctuaries, deemed inviolable and sacrosanct by royal edict. This momentous proclamation, steeped in reverence and solemnity, held profound significance for the lands graced by the Gaia Vargens’ presence, echoing Aldrik Vargengarde’s recognition of the sanctity of their beliefs and the depth of their cultural practices as an attempt to unify the once shattered Vargen tribes for eternity. Under the auspices of this decree, the Gaia Vargens’ ancestral grounds were to be safeguarded as untouchable sanctuaries, preserving the tranquility and harmony revered by the Vargens who called these lands home.

Within the sacred bounds of the Gaia territories, the decree imposed stringent prohibitions. Acts deemed as affronts to the Gaia Vargens’ spiritual beliefs and cultural mores were expressly forbidden. This encompassed a range of conduct that might disturb the sanctity and serenity of their revered domains. Trespasses such as wanton destruction of flora, disturbance of the natural landscape, desecration of sacred sites, or the disruption of the peaceful coexistence they fostered were strictly prohibited and met with severe censure under the Imperial decree.

Scholars from the Conclave of Chroniclers made several extensive visits to the Gaia Territories, recording and documenting the beliefs, rituals, songs, and cultural practices observed among the Tribes of Gaia. Among the various hymns, chants, and melodies sung by the tribes, there was one particular song that stood out — an unnamed, mesmerizing composition that echoed around the serene waters of the Tear of Gaia. This song, sung in unison by the tribespeople as they gathered near the tranquil lake, became a focal point of interest for the Chroniclers. Enchanted by its hauntingly beautiful verses and the emotional resonance it held for the Gaia-kin, the Chroniclers felt compelled to assign it a name that reflected its depth and significance. Thus, they bestowed upon it the title “Requiem of Gaia.”

The Requiem of Gaia is a poignant, harmonious invocation, an evocative tapestry of verses that guided those who sang it through a spiritual journey. Its verses were a poetic invocation to the sanctity of nature, drawing parallels between the elements of the natural world and the cathartic release of emotional burdens. The lyrics of the Requiem were a sacred covenant to the connection between the Gaia-kin and the Great Mother. Each stanza served as a guiding light, urging individuals to shed their emotional armour, releasing the burdens that weighed heavy on their souls. Through this profound song, they were encouraged to embrace the healing essence of nature, symbolised by the Tear of Gaia and its surrounding sanctum. The Chroniclers noted that the song evoked a deep sense of surrender, inviting the tribespeople to immerse themselves fully in nature’s nurturing embrace, to seek solace, comfort and redemption in the forgiving arms of the Great Mother. It was a melodic incantation that encouraged the release of pain, guilt, regret, and sorrow, carrying these burdens away, allowing those who sang it to find inner peace and tranquillity.

Among the myriad customs observed within the tribes, the Chroniclers encountered a singular and deeply significant ritual — one that spoke volumes about the intricate bond shared between the Gaia-kin and their sacred environment.

The tale began with the arrival of a solitary figure, a veteran knight who served under the banner of the Winterfang family. This valiant knight, spurred by a darkened past bears marks of dark incantations which is a stark signs of his Winterfang identity, marred by scars of war and his face heavy with regret and guilt, burdened by the souls he ripped, the suffering he bears from his lost one, doused in anger and hatred which drove him to seek solace and spiritual rejuvenation, made the momentous decision to venture into the heart of the Gaia Territories. His purpose was as enigmatic as the lands he traversed, seeking to unburden himself of the weight of his past and embrace the sanctity of a new beginning. Upon his arrival, the tribesmen, aware of the knight’s intent, gathered in quiet reverence. They formed a solemn procession, accompanying the knight on his journey — a journey steeped in tradition, guided by the sacred verses of the Requiem of Gaia. As they ventured through the ancient forests, traversed the undulating hills, crossed the murmuring rivers, and finally reached the serene expanse of the Tear of Gaia, their voices echoed the hymns of reverence and respect for the land.

Each step he took was accompanied with the heartfelt verses, an invocation to nature, an ode to the Great Mother, and a tender plea for spiritual healing. The chanting served as a celestial guide, leading the knight closer to the purifying waters that beckoned from the heart of the lake. As they reached the shores of the Tear of Gaia, the tribesmen encircled the knight, their harmonious voices reaching a crescendo — a symphony of devotion that echoed across the tranquil expanse. In this moment of profound significance, the knight shed not only his physical armour but also the weight of his past, casting away the remnants of a life burdened by strife and conflict.

Bathed in the lunar light that danced upon the waters, he relinquished his attire, symbolising a rebirth, a ritual of purification — stripped of earthly possessions, vulnerable and unencumbered, he waded into the crystalline depths of the sacred lake. The rippling waters embraced him, caressing his skin with the essence of forgiveness and redemption, offering solace to his weathered soul. This ritual, witnessed by the Chroniclers with reverence and awe, epitomised the profound connection between the Gaia-kin and the nurturing embrace of their Great Mother. It was a testament to the enduring bond between humanity and the sanctity of nature, an eternal cycle of healing and renewal that echoed through the verses of the Requiem of Gaia — a song that guided souls towards redemption and inner peace. The Chroniclers transcribed the song:

Requiem of Gaia

As you set foot on Her forest,

Tread on, Children of Skolvärgr

Beneath Her ancient canopy,

Walk on, let the cold air soften your heart

Walk on, let the woods whispers into your soul

Hear the leaf rustles for your sorrows

Feel the moss cradle your steps,

Witness the sun dapple your spirit

In golden hues of forgiveness

As you set foot on her hills,

Let the grounds tie your mind to Her,

Let the birds sing as you walk on,

Let your body dance, let the wind carry you along,

Dance, Dance, Dance and free, forever free, oh child,

Dance as the forest hums for you.

Let your worries drift into the endless night,

In her embrace, find solace in light.

As you set foot in her lake,

In the Great Mother’s care, in her loving arms,

Guardian of the Wild and Free,

A Mother of All, caring and loving,

Oh Children of Skolvargr, Gaia-kin,

Return to Her, a mother of all…

Leave time behind, leave pain behind,

Leave your burden behind…

As you step into Her river,

Surrender your armour, let it lay,

In nature’s cradle, let your essence play.

Shed your shield, lay it down,

Trust in Her haven’s of nature’s crown,

Shed your clothes, shed your masks,

Reveal your essence, bare and true,

Throw, throw your sword,

Throw it as far away,

Away from hatred, away from anger,

Away from guilt, away from regret

Heimsdottir weeps for every soul slain…

As you step into Her sanctuary,

Let leaves and petals cloak you

Let the cold water cleanse your weary soul,

Ripples soothes, mending brokenness whole,

Release your grip, unclench fists of old,

Scream, scream child, scream, voice your wounds…

Let tears flow, a river carving through desolate sorrow.

Let the wind carry your burden

With each splash, find peace within, behold

As rivers carry away the shards of regret,

Into the open arms of the forgiving earth.

Heimsdottir weeps for every heart’s ache,

Shed your fear, release your sadness,

your burden and your plight,

Wounds and illness,

Guilt and anger,

Regret and grief,

Gone, gone, all gone,

She carries it away, oh child.

In to the wind you fade,

In to the waters you go,

Sink in, where no man judge your sorrows

Where no judgement weighs your dreams

Where no eyes measure your story

Let the whispers of the forest

Embrace your broken spirit,

Mother Heimsdottir awaits in eternity,

The weak, sick and sore,

The lost and dying,

Each and everyone who seek her,

Shall find the embrace of the Great Mother,

As the sun bids farewell…

House Winterfang

Entrenched in the icy heartlands of Vargengarde’s northern realms, stands unwavering as the empire’s shield against an ancient, unyielding adversary — the Empire of Black. The frigid expanse of the Northern Border is both a breathtaking canvas of natural beauty and a cruel stage where the Winterfangs have sworn to defend Vargengarde’s sovereignty and values against the shadowed forces that emanate from the Empire of Black. This mantle of guardianship was not assumed lightly; it’s a duty etched into the very marrow of their bones. The history of House Winterfang is interwoven with the biting frost of the arctic winds and the unforgiving embrace of the frozen landscapes that define their ancestral home. Emerging from this harsh terrain, they stand as a living testament to endurance and a beacon of unwavering hope.

The legacy of House Winterfang is a tapestry of defiance against the ever-encroaching Necromantic Kingdom of Black. Across generations, tensions have ebbed and flowed like the frost-laden tides, giving rise to a complex dance of military readiness and vigilant watchfulness. Winterfang, a unique fusion of militaristic discipline and cultural openness, has woven its strategy from a diverse array of influences. Drawing wisdom from the Gaia Tribes’ herbal lore, the mystic insights nurtured by House Heimsdottir, and the formidable combat training propagated by House Valerian, they’ve forged an identity as a fighting force that is both ferocious and adaptable.

Y et, within the annals of their history lies a bitter chapter, a tale of tragic sacrifice in the face of implacable darkness. The empire once viewed the Kingdom of Black as a looming threat, sparking a preemptive strike that saw the Winterfangs charging forward right towards the borders of Black. However, this act of aggression were solely decided by the leadership of the Winterfangs driven by their innate fear towards what the Kingdom of Black may act towards Winterfang Vargens. The forces they gathered were potent, although small in numbers, the Winterfang had hoped that the Vargengarde would aid in the attack and coerce the Valerian to join in the attack

The scars of this traumatic experience have left an indelible mark on the psyche of House Winterfang. The memory of that fateful battle lies beneath the surface, an ever-present reminder of the dire consequences that arise from underestimating the necromantic might of the Empire of Black. The pain of their loss runs deep, so deep that the royal families of Winterfang resorted to desperate measures, embracing avenues that are typically shunned — surrendering themselves to Dark Magic. This ominous choice, born from desperation and seething resentment, speaks of the depths of their anguish.

The aftermath of the defeat has created a complex web of perceptions around House Winterfang. On one hand, their ferocity, tenacity, and battlefield prowess have earned them deep admiration, even from the esteemed Valerians. Their steadfastness stands as a testament to the strength that the empire can muster against all odds. But on the other hand, a shadow of doubt lingers, casting them as a chilling reminder of the darkness that Black’s necromancers represent. Eversince the painful defeat, The Winterfangs are said to possess hearts colder than the very season they inhabit, a metaphor for the haunting animosity that they harbour. It’s a notion that reverberates in the empire’s whispered tales — “The heart of a Winterfang is even colder than the Heart of Winter itself.”

In the wake of their grievous loss, the Winterfangs’ struggle for survival led them down a path that defies convention. The lure of dark magic has infiltrated their society, rooted in the wounds of that ancient battle. This choice, laden with moral complexity, is emblematic of their desperation and unending determination to protect their homeland and the empire they hold dear. It’s a choice that testifies to their unyielding commitment, even if it’s shrouded in the very darkness they vowed to resist. Hence, House Winterfang’s legacy extends far beyond their role as militarised wardens. Their connection with the land goes beyond tactical mastery; it’s a symbiotic relationship born of necessity. Every member of Winterfang is intimately acquainted with the secrets of the icy landscape — from harnessing its formidable challenges to utilising its hidden strengths. They wield ice-forged armaments and traps with an intimate understanding of their environment, transforming the unforgiving frost into a strategic advantage.

Beyond the roles they take on the battlefield, House Winterfang assumes a mantle of profound importance in sustaining the delicate equilibrium of the Empire. Operating as the gatekeepers of economic prosperity and geopolitical stability, their influence stretches far beyond the frigid expanses of their region. A multifaceted presence, House Winterfang orchestrates many trade treaties involving rare arctic resources that the realm relies upon.

However, their contributions extend beyond mere commerce. Among the sprawling, unforgiving landscapes of the tundra’s heart, House Winterfang embarks on daring expeditions that yield invaluable discoveries. These intrepid forays into the heart of the frozen wilderness grant them access to resources of remarkable potency, enabling them to wield the very elements that define their homeland. Yet, these explorations hold a dual purpose. With the savviness of seasoned diplomats and the shrewdness of strategic thinkers, House Winterfang maintains delicate political balances and nurtures alliances that safeguard Vargengarde’s interests. Their counsel and influence resonate far beyond their icy borders, ensuring that the empire’s standing remains unwavering.

Nevertheless, there exists a shadowed aspect to House Winterfang’s endeavours, a facet that is known to only a few. Deep within the recesses of their fortified capital, Frosthold, lies a repository of secrets and darkness in forms of cursed tomes and tainted artefacts. Their fervent dedication to the empire’s defence led them to seek out the sources of the very power they oppose. Within the ancient and hallowed halls of Frosthold, they have gathered artefacts steeped in profane arcane energies, relics that have been wrested from the clutches of necromantic forces. These artefacts stand as both testament and weapon, a strategic resource that serves to fortify their understanding of the enemy they face. This calculated gamble on the forces of darkness is a testament to the lengths House Winterfang is willing to go to ensure the survival of their realm. Foreign powers would deem the house to be “cursed” as many of their lineages were bestowed unholy gifts from many different deities of darkness, one of which, Lady Glacier Winterfang a descendant of the Winterfang is known in the ranks to be a martial prowess in the battlefield, but her infamous reputation tells tales of her uncontrolled bloodlust and her tendency to lay a victim of possession from the so called Grand Bloodmaster “Sa’Artinat”

Stalhorst Guild

Nestled within the heart of Vargenreach, beneath the shadow of the citadel’s towering spires, the Stalhorst Guild thrives as a bastion of artistry, engineering prowess, and masterful craftsmanship. While they may not possess the traditional authority of a ruling house, their influence permeates every facet of Vargengarde’s existence, leaving an indelible mark on its landscapes and culture.

The guild’s origins are veiled in the mists of history, hailing back to the days of Aldrik Vargengarde, when skilled artisans banded together, driven by a shared pursuit of excellence. Their coming together was a testament to their commitment to turning the mundane into the extraordinary. With deft hands and boundless creativity, they transformed wood and stone into living works of art, crafting structures that defied imagination and functionality that rivaled nature itself. From the humblest wooden carvings to the majestic stone statues and mighty fortresses that dot the imperial lands, the Stalhorst Guild’s touch is unmistakable. Each arch, each column, and each intricate detail tells a story of their dedication, an ode to their pursuit of perfection. The very essence of their work is etched into the fabric of Vargengarde, shaping not just its physical appearance, but also its identity.

While the guild’s craftsmanship stands as a testament to their skill, it is their unique alliance with the enigmatic Drakvarics that has catapulted them to even greater heights. This alliance is not merely economic but artistic in nature, a fusion of Vargen and Drakvaric sensibilities. The Great Workshop built on the mountainside just east of Vargenreach buzzes with a harmonious blend of creativity, the air thick with the hum of forges and the whispers of artisans from both cultures. It’s a place where ideas are exchanged, boundaries are pushed, and the boundaries between tradition, culture and innovation blur into irrelevance.

As the citadel’s stones rise toward the sky, the echoes of the Stalhorst Guild’s legacy reverberate through the city’s very foundation. Their works not only serve as functional structures but also as conduits of culture, embodying the spirit of Vargengarde’s unity and resilience. And within the intricate engravings and hidden alcoves, their mark is a reminder that art, when wielded with skill and passion, has the power to transcend time and shape the destiny of an empire.

Oakheart Guild

The Oakheart Guild stands as a haven for all poets, writers, bards and chroniclers, acting as the center of culture where its center, the Oakheart Grove flows seemingly with unending creativity from both the wise elders and artistic youth of Magna Vargheimar creating a unique and vibrant mosaic which paints Vargen culture full of colours. In its essence, the Oakheart Guild is not merely an institution but a vibrant ecosystem of creativity, a refuge for the soul of Magna Vargheimar’s artistic spirit. It is a place where the symphony of languages and dialects, the diverse rhythms of life, merge to give birth to new stories, new worlds, and new emotions. From the haunting ballads that tell of battles long past to the lilting verses that capture the fleeting beauty of a sunrise, the guild members craft narratives that echo the heartbeats of the land itself.

In contrast to the Stalhorst Guild’s mastery over craftsmanship, the Oakheart Guild derives its strength from its deep connection to the people. Here, artistic endeavors are not secluded within guild walls; they flow out into the streets, the homes, castles, barracks and the very hearts of Vargens. The Guild’s members are the wandering minstrels, the raconteurs who turn ordinary moments into extraordinary tales, and the troubadours who infuse life with melodies that traverse the entire spectrum of emotions. The Guild’s influence knows no bounds. The marketplace becomes a stage for bards and tale-tellers, so does the courtyards of nobles become auditoriums, and the taverns become theaters for its members to perform. The impact of the Oakheart Guild reaches beyond the mere surface, echoing through the years and etching its name into the very memory of Magna Vargheimar.

Among the Guild’s ranks, a distinct subgroup known as the “Memorialists and Chroniclers” stands apart, recently forming the “Conclave of Chroniclers.” These dedicated individuals carry the weight of history, preserving the chronicles of legends within the empire, and ensuring that the echoes of the past resound into the future. Their tales breathe life into the annals of Magna Vargheimar, painting vivid portraits of the trials, defeat, triumphs, and the unwavering spirit that defines the empire.

The Guild resides within the Oakheart Grove, a masterpiece that stands as a testament to the harmonious collaboration between nature’s beauty and the skillful craftsmanship of the Stalhorst Guild. This revered enclave, situated at the very heart of Vargenreach, is a living embodiment of the Empire’s reverence for both the natural world and the boundless creativity.

One would be greeted by an otherworldly fusion of architectural wonder and the untamed elegance of nature. The towering trees, their branches intertwined like the stories of generations, create a canopy that filters the sunlight into a dappled tapestry on the ground below. The gentle rustling of leaves becomes a symphony of whispers, a serene backdrop to the bustling creativity that thrives within the Guild. The very stones of the Grove tell a story of their own. Every brick on every walls, every column, every archway has been carefully hewn by the hands of Stalhorst artisans, guided by an unwavering pursuit of perfection to their craft. The stones seem to have absorbed the melodies and verses sung within these walls, resonating with the energy of artistic expression that courses through the Guild.

At the heart of the Grove stands the grand central hall, its design a marvel of architectural ingenuity. The roof, supported by gracefully carved pillars, opens up to the sky, allowing sunlight to stream in during the day and the moon’s soft glow to illuminate the hall at night. The walls are adorned with intricate reliefs that depict scenes from Vargen history, tales of valor, love, loss, and triumph, offering a visual narrative that parallels the artistic storytelling practiced within. The Grove is a sanctuary for both the creators and appreciators of art. Tranquil alcoves serve as writing nooks for poets seeking solace in their words, while open spaces are adorned with vibrant tapestries that celebrate the myriad cultures that flourish within Magna Vargheimar. Chiming chandeliers crafted from iridescent crystal cast a gentle luminance over gatherings, while the central dais hosts performances that range from poignant ballads to lively recitations.

A crystal-clear stream meanders through the Grove, its gentle murmur weaving into the symphony of creativity. Bridges arch gracefully over its waters, connecting various sections of the Guild like threads in a tapestry, fostering a sense of unity among artists of all walks of life. The Oakheart Grove is not just a place; it’s a living entity that evolves with the pulse of the Empire. It stands as a tribute to the Stalhorst Guild’s prowess in merging the vargen touch with nature’s majesty. As the seasons change, so does the Grove — a riot of colors in the fall, a sanctuary beneath a blanket of snow in winter, a blossoming garden in spring, and a shaded retreat in the heat of summer.

In essence, the Oakheart Grove is the embodiment of Magna Vargheimar’s soul — a realm where art, nature, and compassion interlace to form an eternal ode to creativity. It remains a living testament to the Empire’s belief that creativity is the cornerstone of culture, and that within every brushstroke, every verse, and every melody lies the heart of the Vargen spirit.

Conclave of Chroniclers

The Conclave of Chroniclers, an enclave nested within the vibrant heart of the Oakheart Guild, is a subset that sets itself apart from the lyrical masteries and harmonious melodies that the guild predominantly weaves. Unlike their counterparts who masterfully craft words into melodies, the members of the Conclave of Chroniclers embark on a profoundly different artistic journey — one that involves transmuting life’s stories, past and present, into written words.

Sequestered within the serene expanse known as the Chambers of Chroniclers, a tranquil refuge located on the northern edge of the sprawling Oakheart Grove, the Conclave of Chroniclers delves into the sacred duty of preserving the annals of Magna Vargheimar’s history. The chambers themselves are a marvel to behold, meticulously designed to provide an atmosphere of introspection and tranquility. Sunlight filters through stained glass windows, casting a kaleidoscope of colors that dance upon the walls, inspiring an ambiance of reverence for the past. Within these hallowed halls, Chroniclers wield quills and parchment instead of instruments, their calloused fingers dancing across pages as they capture the course of history. The air is often hushed with the soft rustling of parchment and the faint scratching of quills, as if the very essence of time is being transcribed onto vellum.

But the Conclave is not a solitary endeavor, it’s a communion of minds and stories. Chroniclers gather to share their findings, debates occasionally kindles like sparks, as interpretations of the past may diverge. This exchange of ideas is what enriches their craft, allowing them to weave narratives that are both thorough and multidimensional, presenting history not as a stagnant relic, but as a vibrant continuum.

Their mission transcends beyond mere documentation. Where the Vargengardes, Valerians and Winterfangs are the guardians of the Empire, The Chroniclers are the guardians of truth, holding themselves to the sacred duty of preserving the legacy of Magna Vargheimar, even when stories are painful or difficult. They embrace the complexity of history, recording both the victories and the failures, the joys and the sorrows. Through their words, they gift the future sons and daughters of the Empire with not just with tales of grandeur, but with a profound understanding of what it truly means to be a Vargen.

In the Chambers of Chroniclers, silence often reigns, disturbed only by the steady rhythm of quills and the faint echoes of whispered conversations among these chroniclers of memory. Theirs is a role of profound responsibility, for they are the weavers of the Empire’s records of history, ensuring that the lessons of the past are never lost to the currents of time.

War of Unification and the Rise of the Luminary

“Long before, did the Vargens live in the times of strife as the dark shroud of misery and rage blinded us. Vargens were no different than beasts. Brothers pitted against brothers, friends murdered friends for no real purpose but to stoke their greed and for what? That’s when Aldrik rose, a prince of his tribe who took the mantle as the unifier. With his blade he subdued those who seek to wreak havoc and with words, he persuaded his enemies to serve under his banner.”

In the shrouded beginning of Vargen history… a time of turmoil gripped the land of Magna Vargheimar, shrouding its inhabitants in darkness and dividing them into warring factions. An era where brother fought brother, kin clashed with kin, and an all-consuming hatred clouded the minds of the once noble Vargens. The very essence of their existence seemed to be defined by a ceaseless cycle of violence and betrayal.

In the midst of this chaos emerged a figure that would forever change the fate of all Vargens… Prince Aldrik Vargengarde, hailing from the Vargengarde tribes, he rose to power, leading his men at the tip of his sword…

Born of the strife-ridden tribe that would eventually bear his name, was destined to become the beacon of unity that would guide his people out of the abyss. Aldrik was not just a warrior, but a visionary and a leader who saw beyond the haze of bloodshed. Armed with a blade that would one day be etched into the legends of Magna Vargheimar as Aldrik’s Fangblades, he took up the mantle of the Unifier. With the heart of a diplomat and the strength of a warrior, he carved a path through the chaos, rallying those who yearned for an end to the senseless battles and subduing those who resisted his will.

Amidst the clashing of swords and the roar of the wild, Aldrik’s leadership began to draw a loyal band of warriors to his side, known as the First Drengrs. Elite warriors hailing from the many different Vargen tribes weren’t just soldiers, they were the embodiment of Aldrik’s vision, wielding their weapons not only with skill but with the hope of a brighter future. Yet, Aldrik’s path to unification was not solely paved with steel and blood. He understood the power of words, the art of persuasion. Through eloquent diplomacy, he managed to convince some of his most formidable adversaries to lay down their arms and join him under a single banner. This transformation from foes to allies was nothing short of miraculous, a testament to Aldrik’s unwavering determination and his belief in the potential of his people.

As the ranks of the once-warring tribes began to merge and Aldrik’s effort to enlighten the tribes of a unified future, a new identity emerged — The Empire of Magna Vargheimar, a united realm for all Vargens. Aldrik, now seated as the first High King of the realm appointed each region their very own, native leaders in form of ruling Houses. The First Drengrs, now takes the role as vanguards of this fledgling nation, and stood as a symbol of Aldrik’s unyielding leadership and the embodiment of a new era.

As the tribes unite, so does every layer of it’s people merging into one, paving way for the formation of the so-called Stalhorst Guild. With the formation of the Stalhorst Guild, the First Drengrs now took their place as the vanguard of not just an army, but a society. They became not only skilled warriors but master craftsmen, forging the legendary Aldrik’s Fangblades that would come to represent the very essence of Magna Vargheimar’s spirit — the unification of strength, artistry, and purpose.

Aldrik’s rise to power wasn’t just about conquest; it was about instilling a new way of thinking among his people. He emphasized the importance of unity, of casting aside the divisions that had plagued them for generations. The legacy of his leadership extended far beyond the battlefield — it became the foundation upon which Magna Vargheimar would stand. The War of Unification was not merely a conflict resolved through might; it was a testament to the strength of the Vargen spirit, the ability to rise above the darkness and embrace a brighter future. Aldrik’s legacy echoes through the ages, reminding the Vargens of their potential for greatness when united under a common purpose. Upon Aldrik’s death, the whole nation mourned in unison as the common folks are invited to his funeral and a feast to cherish his memories and legacy while the House of Vargengarde declared the day of his death as a empire wide celebration where Vargens banded together in their townsquares and host many feasts and the Conclave of Chroniclers were formed to record his story and the story of others for generations to come while the Stalhorst Guild gathered their most renowned and skilled artisans to sculpt his mighty statue, now standing tall in the center of Vargenreach. Aldrik was not a mere prince, nor is he a warrior or warmonger, he wasnt just a High King… Aldrik was a Luminary of all Vargens.

And so, as the history of Magna Vargheimar unfolds, the War of Unification remains a pivotal chapter — a tale of a prince who became a luminary, a warrior who became a unifier. The echoes of Aldrik’s footsteps can still be felt in the hearts of his descendants, a constant reminder that even in the bleakest of times, the spark of unity can illuminate the path toward a better tomorrow.
