Plants and Animals All Depend on the Sun

(Well, except for those extremophiles . . .)

The sun, 92.96 million miles away from the Earth, hits us with only a tiny fraction — about one billionth — of its energy. But the is enough to give us the warmth we need to sustain and promote life. Plants sprout using the light of the photons to convert the carbon dioxide in the air to sugars, both for the plant itself, and the organisms in the soil and those creatures that consume the plant.

The dew and rains in the meadows help the roots of the plant absorb minerals providing essential nutrients for growth and reproduction. Some of these plants produce such vibrant flowers, humans have taken to cultivate them and place them around their homes for the beauty they display.

Bees, birds, bats, butterflies, and moths help the plants reproduce as the plants provide nourishment to those animals that rely on them for their reproduction.

A little longer than 100 words, but there were seven words I was using:
